Micro Podracer | Round One Entry for the 2018 Annual Eight Piece Building Challenge
SHOOOM!!! Or is it VROOOM!!! SHVROOOM!!!
About this creation
The Eight Piece Building Challenge has returned! Time to try and build some things using only eight pieces! You should definitely join in on the fun.

As I do, I built a podracer. You guys may not know this, but I have a bunch of podracers built, I just have been a real slacker about taking pictures. I know a couple of them are a little over two years old. Oops.

Here's a shot with the clear pieces I used to then later edit out for the main pictures. They aren't intrinsic to the build in any way, they just make for more dynamic photography. The string acting as the cables holds the chassis just fine. This is partially because that string is brand new, but it's some relatively thick string for such small weight it has to carry.

You know, I'm not even sure why I took this picture. I think it's just because I wanted to show that it does not in fact hover. There goes the magic, sorry kids. And also that the clear parts DO NOT COUNT, they are not the MOC. I don't know why I feel the need to stress it, but I don't want anyone fighting me.

Proof of eight pieces, as per the rules. At least I think they are. I know I'm not exactly following protocol with the title, but it's still the important information. It's better than when you have to build something with a hundred pieces or less, but then you have to prove it by taking your baby apart. I am not a savage, how dare you ask me to take my babies apart? Although in this case, I kind of had to, but eight pieces is easier to remember than a hundred. Forgive me my child...

Oh hey, you want to watch a six minute video of me reviewing this tiny MOC, hyping up the challenge, and going on Star Wars ramblings?

I do so much for so little.

And this is where I tell you to rate and comment and junk like that, but really, let's make the competition blow up! I want to see you guys make better MOCs than I ever could! Seriously, I'm easy to beat. So head on over to the Fifth Annual Eight Piece Building Challenge group and make some MOCs!

As a side note, I am really all over the place today, I don't know what is up. I guess I'm just excited because I built something and there's exciting things happening on MOCpages after the longest time.

I think I forgot to comment on this. I do that sometimes. Anyways, this looks amazing! the fact that you were able to recreate the shape with a good color scheme without LDD... that's really cool. Maybe the fezzes helped. :P

Quoting Luuk S w00t! TEPBC does strange things with people indeed... But it's a good kind of a strange thing I think. ;-) Podracers are also a must-have here. I tried a few in 8-piece before but for some reason they never got through. Yours is an excellent version and I like your choice of parts! The way you connect the piece of string is great!. Have fun and good luck!
I'm going to have to see those pods. I love podracers.

Quoting Ori Rosenstein Listen, this is just astounding, and the photo - man, when I realized it wasn't a computer-generated image... mind blown :)
The best part is that it's just my desk and a piece of light blue cardstock I used some blue pastel on. Never underestimate the power of a low budget. Thanks.

Quoting [ Kromastus ] I love the way you've made such a simple but effective design. It communicates all the main elements of both podracers generally and the old Lego podracers, all by using simple shaping and some clever parts choices. I love the pods themselves - the fez piece is perfect for a thruster cone.
I guess it is a little similar to the old Mini Podracers set. https://brickset.com/sets/4485-1/Sebulba-s-Podracer-Anakin-s-Podracer But mine's even better because it has the cables. Even the 2012 Planet set didn't have them. https://brickset.com/sets/9675-1/Sebulba-s-Podracer-Tatooine

Quoting Democritus Radon A nice, strong first entry! I'm a lil' bit disappointed that it doesn't hover, though... ;)
I'm sure LEGO is working on it.
