About this creation
I built the Lego version of the Queen Vic, the pub from the British soap Eastenders, back in 2005. For those not in the know the Queen Vic is a Victorian public house. There are many similar looking buildings across London, some of which are listed and some which are now sadly demolished.

In 2005 the parts and building techniques were different and the Queen Vic looked fairly basic, but it was a start.

In 2006 it was overhauled and an attempt was made to replicate the angled look of the building. Lights were added to the outside of the building but it still suffered with a lack of detail.

In 2007 SNOT techniques were used to try and replicate the windows and the upstairs portion of the building was tan instead of grey. Lights illuminated the building but the trade off was no interior, which ultimately I wasn't happy with.

In 2010 the Queen Vic was rebuilt with an interior, brighter colours and the use of dolls house lights because there was no suitable alternative in Lego.

In 2012 I modified the upper part of the building, the ground floor remained the same.

In 2014 the entire building was rebuilt and version 6 was born. This version lasted the longest and whilst it used the same lighting from 2010 it was a complete rebuild, albeit on the same base.

In 2018 I decided that a refurbishment was necessary. However I was unsatisfied with some aspects of version 6 and decided that a rebuild was the only option. The entire building was dismantled, including the base and rebuilt from the ground up. Improvements included:
- New lighting
- New structure on the outside using jumper plates to mimic the columns
- Tan bricks for the upper floors
- More detailed interior and bar.

Below are some pictures of the new Queen Vic (version 7) and at the very end a group of photos showing the evolution from version 1 to version 7. Comments are most welcome. Please be advised that this is not a set, nor do I have instructions. It was built with photos, testing and a lot of artistic interpretation! Many thanks!

The new bar area. In the "real" one there is a clock above the door but it is green not blue. The head seemed the best part use here. The seating is dark brown and whilst it isn't clear to see there are jumper bricks to mimic a dado rail. You can see some of them above the seating and to the left of the window by the bar.

Only since version 4 has there been a bell in the bar. This, however, is a new bell which uses a new part which was unavailable when version 4-6 were being built.

On the bar sits the bust of the Queen Vic. This is one aspect of the build which hasn't really changed over the years due to the availability of parts. The bust needs to be brown, or copper even, but it does restrict what I can do with it. I do always anticipate a new minifig line in case a perfect part does come up.

Another part which has only been available since the rebuild is the wallpaper which was featured in the 1960s batcave. The wallpaper of the real one is similar, but beige, not green however it was an acceptable trade off.

The evolution of the Queen Vic from 2005 to present.
