Iden Versio leads her Squad through the Forest Moon of Endor
About this creation
This vignette was built fairly quickly, really only took me about a day.
It was fun to experiment with more slopes in my landscape, I never realised how many green slopes I actually had in my collection. I tend to not really use them in MOCs, but after building this I would love to use them more.
Now I could keep talking about the vig but I always end up using this space to talk about all sorts of things, and I enjoy doing that. So here we go :)
I recently uploaded 2 set reviews onto YouTube and man I loved those videos. They were longer to make but they were so much fun! The Mech Showdown video I think is, in my books, my favourite video on my channel. Really proud of it. I'd love to produce more Set Review videos in the future.
I have a few other smaller Star Wars Vigs in mind, one on Hoth and one on maybe Onderon
I also have a lot of plans to revamp older dioramas this year and to continue to work on some larger projects. I currently am cleaning my LEGO collection, but once I finish I aim to photography two very very large projects that have been ready to post for a bit now. So expect to see them soon ;)
I started reading Nick Spenser's Captain America run a few days ago. You know the infamous Captain Hydra stuff where they re-wrote his past into making him a Hydra Sleeper Agent... I thought I'd not like it, I've read Secret Empire and thought the concept was awesome, and actually enjoyed it, but Hydra Cap was always a bit hard on me, I love Cap a lot and seeing my Hero like that was, at times tough. But Secret Empire ended awesome so...
But back to Nick Spencer's run... It's actually pretty good. I think people overreacted to the first issue, but if you keep reading it, it's clever and pretty bold. Again it's tough to see Cap as a Hydra Agent, but it's at least well done and not a sort of backstab to Stan Lee and the fans etc.
I'm a little behind on watching the second half of Season 1 of Star Wars Resistance. I have been busy watching Young Justice actually.
This is my first viewing of it and I love it a lot! I'm maybe 5 episodes out of finishing season 1 so no spoilers please. But man it's cool!
I've also started writing a Star Wars Comic. I remember one of the things that inspired me to join MOCpages was the comics of Commander Fed that he used to post. I always wanted to write my own, but never did. So now I'm finally going to do so. It's coming along well at the moment ;)
I aim to write it all, then photograph it, then edit the pictures. Then I'll break it up into 'issues' and post them individually here. I may even voice it and post it on YouTube too as a sort of motion comic. It wouldn't be stop motion, just me reading it with the images up.
But it's still in the early stages, I'll have it up before the year is over though :)
I also have a very short Star Wars Stop Motion video planned. It'll be like 40 seconds or maybe a minute, but it'll be fun :)
Oh and I have a 40 second-ish LEGO Stop Motion Video coming... I think next week? It's been scheduled on YouTube. It's not Star Wars, but it's funny.
So yeah that and a bunch of other stuff planned for 2019 :) Exciting stuff... Oh and this was my first MOC of 2019 by the way ... Yay!
That's all folks!
Fourth Wall Commentary:
So since pictures leaked of the Inferno Squad Battlepack I was very very excited! I kept checking in the shops all of January hoping it would be there and finally when it arrived I grabbed one. The figures did not disappoint, they are brilliant! I wanted to make a vignette for them since I loved them so much.
It was fun to make a forest landscape, I haven't done one in a bit and I always love making them.
Thanks all! Thanks MC, yeah I see your point on the slopes here... very interesting point I'll have a think about how I layer the landscape with the plants when using these next time... Ooofff I need to catch up on Resistance, I saw the trailer and the tie into the movies excited me, so I'm keen :) The commentators in The Mech Showdown where very improvised, I wasnt happy with how similar their voices were but the comedy worked so I kept it. (They were so improvised that their names change throughout the skit XD) I'm pretty decent with my voices and would aim for what James Arnold Taylor does in those upcoming videos for sure.
It's pretty good. I don't know how to feel about the green slopes. It's nice to use parts you almost never do, but they almost look weirdly unnatural here. I think it's because you have so much plant growth that these sudden clean patches on the perimeter or maybe too much of a visual shift. I can see slopes working, but maybe it's best for micro scale or just differently used in minifig scale. But I do like the dish and I really like your arm swap for the leader.
You're crushing it with YouTube. I don't usually say that because I'm too busy trying to think of something snarky and funny to spam in the comments.
Quoting HYDRA CAP
First, Hail Hydra! Second, I don't read comics, but I have paid attention to what was going on with it, and it was weird. But you know, you do what you do for the story and you have to do something different to get people's attention because when everything is the same for too long, you lose readers. And comics are cyclical, so it wasn't like this was going to be permanent.
Dude, you are missing out! The last episode to air is most likely right before The Force Awakens, and the next (few) will be during The Force Awakens (and The Last Jedi). It's rad.
Quoting YOUNG JUSTICE
So I watched the first two Seasons after the fact because I helped take the show off the air by not watching it, and the First Season was definitely the best of the two. Season 2 was still good, but I wasn't too happy with some of the decisions made for the story, and I hear Season 3 has done the same things again and I haven't gotten around to watching any of it. I would say that I just haven't had the time because there are too many hour long podcasts and videos I need to catch up on, not to mention all the other shows I've been watching, except, I started rewatching the MCU Thursday, and I only have six more movies left, so clearly I have my priorities all over the place. I think I've just kind of lost interest in Young Justice, despite having enjoyed the show. Same thing happened to Attack on Titan. I like the anime, but I got so lost in the story in Season 3, that I started rewatching it to know what the heck was happening, and I got halfway through Season 1 about three months ago, probably more, and haven't returned. My priorities are all over the place.
Quoting STAR WARS COMIC
If I had a microphone, I'd help out. I didn't mind the skit you did in the Mech Showdown video, but if one person is doing voices, they need to be able to really separate them and make me really believe they're different people. It's a bit unfair, but check out James Arnold Taylor's Podcast. He does multiple characters throughout the show, in real time, bouncing off of one another, and you forget it is just the one guy. So for your comic, if you go for "motion comic" find a few friends to help out maybe, or go the route of G2 Bionicle shorts, and have it be like a storyteller sharing a story. (How good is your Anthony Daniels?)
Quoting Ben Cossy Oh and this was my first MOC of 2019 by the way ... Yay!
I still haven't built anything in 2019. I'm just going to be sharing old MOCs from up to three years ago all year long. XD
Quoting THE END
Alright, now, does anyone have any orange slices? I'm winded from all this typing.
