Avengers: The Battle of New York
Avengers Assemble!
About this creation

Cue the Avengers theme music!

So the actual diorama is semi- Modular, but to be honest that doesn't make it easier to transport :P

The bridge in the centre of the diorama takes a lot of inspiration from the movie and New York in the real world, but the buildings around it, not so much.

So of course all your favourite Avengers are here, but I have changed Black Widow's face and Hawkeye's hair from the original figures to look a little more accurate to the movie.

Speaking of Marvel, Captain Marvel was great fun! I won't spoil anything, but I very much enjoyed it.

Also speaking of Captain Marvel, I can't wait to watch Shazam too. I've been loving him in Young Justice, so I'm very excited to see him in live action.

I'm very excited for Endgame now, it's so close now, can't wait!

I also am really liking the new Endgame LEGO sets we're getting, I know some people have been complaining, but tell you what man, they honestly really excited me so. Very keen to grab them.

I've also been very excited for the upcoming Star Wars anniversary sets.

So of course I Bricklinked all these Chitauri figures

So I recorded the 100th BIS episode last night, good fun. It's a longer one, but I have a few fun surprises in there, excited to release it :)

I'm tempted to marathon all the MCU films again before Endgame comes out, I recon that would be most enjoyable

I've been planning a few more episodes of Behind the Build, I'm yet to write them and film them, but these will be good ones. Thinking of doing a sort of 'Lego Dictionary' video talking about all the different LEGO terms like SNOT, MOC etc.

I keep hearing lots of exciting news about Star Wars Celebrations and mannnn I want to go! Sounds so so cool

I'm also looking forward to the Ep 9 trailer, no idea when we'll get that, but when we do, I'm hyped!

I still have another Bionicle and a few other Star Wars MOCs ready to post soon, surprisingly I have lots of stuff ready to post, so get excited!

I've also been progressing well with my LEGO City MOC. I mentioned this back on my Sailing Boat post.

It still has a long way to go, but things are coming up Milhouse for sure!

I've also been debating about making my own version of the 75159 Death Star Set. Awesome set but yeah I'd be keen to do my own take on it.

It be a biggish project, but I'd likely keep it a similar size to the set itself, I'd just add my own ideas and rooms to it.

Might be fun to do soon, I'd be down.

I also have some top secret LEGO related news I'd be keen to share, but I don't think I can talk about it just yet, so stay tuned ;)

When I do share that, it'll be over on YouTube though ;)

Also I spoke about Young Justice above, I'm currently done with Season 2 and am a few episodes into Season 3. OOOFFFFFF it's so good!

Really itching to grab the SuperBoy Figure LEGO made now haha

Might even try my hand at some purist custom versions of those character too

Man I've been so tempted to buy a Switch now that the new Pokémon games have been announced. But so much moneys D:

Random question. Do you think counting the Uni-Kitty CMF figures as a part of the CMF line of figures is a thing? I have every CMF they made, but I don't display the uni-Kitty CMFs with them. Thoughts?

Has anyone watched the Uni-Kitty show by the way? Is it any good?

I wonder when we'll hear new news on Clone Wars Season 7?

Will they wait till Celebrations to share more info? Surely they'd say more sooner

I also wonder when and how Marvel will announce the new Movies they have planned.

Anyway Avengers was a rad movie, so I made a rad MOC from it.

That's all folks!

Fourth Wall Commentary:
I've actually had this built for a few years now, but didn't have a great way of photographing it since it's one of my larger MOCs. This was also originally built for a MOC off with Forgotten Days, but we called it off since he finished many months before me, and I wasn't able to photograph it like I said before.

Still, despite this being a fairly old MOC, I'm very proud of it, I've wanted to build the Battle of New York since Avengers came out in 2012.

Hope you enjoyed the MOC :)

Awesome work! There's so much detail. My only complaint is the few rooftops that aren't tiled but I'm assuming that this is down to part shortages? Anyway, its not a big issue at all and the MOC is still great!

Great moc, although i feel like some of the buildings are a bit too destroyed or have taken damage in very odd manners.

Quoting the MOC
Oh wow, that's a big MOC. I heard you talking about it on your Podcast. I'll get to the Eljay one soonish, I'm seeing Captain Marvel later today, so maybe after that. You talked for two hours, I need to find the time to listen to that, even at double speed because I had a ton of people I'm subscribed to upload a ton of stuff that was each an hour or more long and I had family in town I hadn't seen in about 12 years. Precedent takes place. But back to the topic at hand. This looks great! I recently just rewatched the MCU so Avengers is fresh in my mind, and I am seeing all the little motifs to the cool moments in that final battle. Also, rewatching the MCU was great because you catch more of the references. Not sure what it means for Captain Marvel though because Nick Fury specifically references Thor as being the proof that Earth was not alone in the universe. At that point and with Spider-Man Homecoming taking place in 2020 and him joking in Infinity War that he came from the future, I'm just going to stick with Doctor Strange breaking time in his movie and any and all continuity errors are resolved because comic logic.
Quoting DC stuff
Still haven't seen Aquaman, maybe I'll Redbox it soon enough, but I can't deny, some of the stuff I've seen from Shazam makes me want to see it because it looks like it's just going to be a straight up comedy, which is perfect for that type of character. I wonder how long a franchise can work though because they're starting with a 15 year old kid, and that's already half grown up. Needed someone younger because unlike comics, people age in real time. Still haven't done anything with Young Justice. rip me
Quoting Endgame
Yep, can't wait either. I hope it is a great cutoff point though, too. I don't want a post credit scene setting up Phase 4, keep it clean, only have the credit scenes relate to this movie. We're already 22 movies in, that's a lot to ask for the future to watch of a series of movies, we don't need to force them to continue if they don't want to. Also, Phase 4 should act as kind of a new jumping on point, too.
Quoting Star Wars Anniversary Sets
I'm currently running a series of reviews on the original sets those sets are based off of, and I'm talking about what the new ones get right, and what things don't work for me and why I won't be picking any up. Spoilers: I own everything already, even the classic figures, I don't need remakes. It'll be hard missing out on Zuckuss, but I will wait patiently for a remake of the Super Star Destroyer that I never got that will have him, or maybe LEGO will grace us with a set based off the phone call skit from Robot Chicken. Point is, there's a head mold now, why let it go to waste? One day Zuckuss shall return.
Quoting Behind the Build
Don't forget about this: Some good terms in there like Grűschteling.
Quoting Star Wars Celebration
Man, the livestreams are going to be awesome. All those animation panels! We'll finally get some more news about Clone Wars! We'll get to say goodbye to Rebels one last time. And we'll get to have a glimpse of Resistance's future. And yeah, Episode IX, the hype is building.
Quoting Building MOC Sets
It is fun, I just haven't been doing it lately. The last time I touched that Aqua Raiders Castle I'm working on was back in December. I need to get back to it. I have a few good ideas made, I just need to refine everything, and add interiors, and also build a seadragon... Okay, I've still got a long way to go. I need to stop watching YouTube videos and dewit. I'd be listening to Eljay's podcast while writing this gihumgous comment, but my brain can't do that. Maybe I need to take a crack at the Castle later today.
Quoting Secrets
Quoting Unikitty
It's an odd series. Unikitty counts as a minifigure in the sets she's in, and she was just in the LEGO Movie 2 series. I think the Unikitty series counts. Oh, and you have to try this out. Get a gray neck bracket, a gray 1x1 with just the clip, and the long blaster from Star Wars. Clip it at the shoulder stock, and place the bracket on Camokitty's right. Boom, Combat Kitty. I have one in my Endor Display as an Easter Egg just like how I have Indiana Jones trying to capture Han in Carbonite on the landing pad at Cloud City. And YES Unikitty is so good. It's similar to Teen Titans Go, but unlike how they have taken competent characters and made goofy versions of them, Unikitty is nothing but characters that are zaney and meant to be. Rick is great comic relief with his dry dialog. Puppicorn is a dog and just as stnpid. Dr. Fox is secretly a monster. Hawkodile is a tough softy. Master Frown is fun, too, but his roomate Brock is the best! And not to mention the side characters, there was a whole episode dedicated to Toaster and Toast, the best side characters in the show! Dino dude is an Australian dinosaur with wheels for feet. Feebee is a crazy cat lady but replace the cats with flowers. Everything eventually grows a face and has feelings in the show, it's hilarious. There was an episode where they find Batman's suit in the wash, and Will Arnett is a guest voice. And I say that the show is 100% canon now that we've gotten The LEGO Movie 2. Bianca is behind the briliant madness that is this show.
