VLUG BSG 2018
About this creation
Alright gang, better late than never...

Here's VLUG's 2018 Brickworld BSG display!

Starting off with the title shot in mosaic form. My wife, Cettina's first solo LEGO build, mosaic, and Brickworld display! After all these years watching, she finally decided to jump in. Five big baseplates, that.

Lee and Danette Jones' awesome mosaic of Six in the iconic red dress, and a pair of Centurions. Figures Lee would volunteer for that build...

My son, Alex's mosaic of the Battlestar Galactica/ BSG 75 Logo. If you stand back from the screen, you'll be able to read the words around the shield.

Some of you may recognize my Hangar Deck. Standard red and white Vipers, the black Stealth Viper, Tyler Halliwell's dark red and yellow Viper (thanks, Dude!) and the Raptor. This set was displayed at Eekfest in Edmonton, Alberta a few years ago, too.

Armistice Station. That's where the second Cylon War started, and where we saw Six in the red dress for the first time.

Galactica CIC. This is the scene where Adama reads the telex about the attack. Tigh says it must be a retirement prank. Adama says, "I don't think so."

Dr. Baltar's amazing Cylon detector! This is the scene when Starbuck walks in during one of Baltar's 'fantasies'. He was supposed to be testing people's blood. Whoops.
I built the figs. My son did the set.

Dennis Price's Cylon Resurrection tub. He had another name for it that I won't repeat here.

Roy T. Cook's busts. Six again, in the red dress, but of course. Boomer and the baby. And Starbuck smoking a cigar. Six and Boomer's backs glowed red, and so did Starbuck's cigar.

Starbuck close up.

Bryan Bonahoom's massive Colonial Movers. Complete with glowing engines and many many grafitti stickers.

Adam Reed Tucker's Cylon Baseship. Yes, those are all shinny silver! Adam was reluctant to build this ship at the beginning. I sent him pictures. "It has no engines, it has no bridge! What the &*%$ is this? How does it even move?!?!" So, seeing as he's an architect by trade, I figured I'd send him an example of a peculiar building somewhere in the world to convince him. And I found this.

Galactica. Shipping wasn't kind to me this year, but I was able to get the old girl back together, and hung on three lines of fishing line. My son built the Gemenon Traveler.

Zypher: Giovanni Seynhaeve came through with this, the ringed ship, all the way from Belgium! Roy put it back together with the detailed instructions.

Viper: Mark Kelso really outdid himself with this one.
I was tempted to tell Mark it had been lost in the mail...

Viper

Here's the layout. The idea was to have the Fleet shot in the front, and follow the story around the perimeter. We didn't have as much story as previous years, but it was still a good time.

World of Lights

Although Chris Phipson wasn't able to build anything in LEGO for this year's collab, he was able to get the display constructed, with me acting as carpenter's assistant.

So there we have it! On to Brickworld 2019!

Quoting Marc "Edge" R.unde What an amazing assembly, Commander! So many cool BSG builds of all these talented builders together in one display. Your son seems to follow your footprints pretty well! The last shot of Phipson holding Glactica is awesome, as I tend to forget how big she is! ~Doc
Thanks, Doc! It was a lot of fun to gather all of those builds in one display. I even had a soundtrack playing of various themes from the show.
