TFTSAL Entry: Kaiga Tiger
About this creation
I apologize in advance for the horrible pictures, I completely forgot that this was the last day I'll have time to post. Also my camera is the absolute worst, so...

Kaiga (KAY-guh) Tigers are a breed of feline Rahi, inhabiting both the jungles of Le-Koro and the mountains of Ko-Koro. They have an incredibly strong abdomen, but lack muscle mass in the chest and shoulders. Their limbs, especially their back legs, are immensely powerful, capable of sending them in long leaps to pounce on their prey. Kaiga Tigers are surprisingly adept climbers, able to swarm up trees with ease. Their powerful barbed tails are easily able to dispatch their prey with a single blow. They are easily recognizable from the sagittal crest on their head. Some have said that the Kaiga's face if almost comical to look at. Well, let's just put it this way: they weren't saying that when their heart was trying to be ripped out by one.

Kaiga Tigers have two tusk-like protrusions coming out of their chin, which can be used to severely maul or kill both what few predators they have as well as prey. Kaigas prefer to live solitary lives, and are typically hostile to others of their species, only meeting up with other Tigers to mate and raise young. Full grown Kaigas have very few natural prey, but adolescents will occasionally be preyed upon by larger carnivorous Rahi, in the off-chance that said adolescents are left alone.

Kaigas are generally hostile towards Matoran. It is considered a great feat to kill one, and the large teams of Le-Matoran that are specifically trained to do so are seen as heroes. The idea of domesticating Kaigas is unheard of, but it is rumored that it has been done in the far past.

The build for this came together pretty fast, and although it's pretty much just pieces that look nice slapped together, I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out. The back section turned out okay, and I'm pretty proud of the use of the HF torso.

The armoring on the back ended up okay, too. The main problem is really just the chest. It's spectacularly underwhelming.

Kaiga Tigers are also know for the incredibly swoll scapulae :P

Not exactly a very intimidating visage, but oh well :D

Thanks for taking the time to look at this. I can't apologize enough for the trashy pictures, but I guess you'll all have to deal with it. If I can find the motivation, I'll retake them with better lighting. So I probably won't end up doing it, because motivation and MocPages don't go together xD

Quoting Shining TORPedo Nice! I question the mention about the muscle distribution, most of the habits you mentioned necessitate strong upper body muscles, but otherwise the description is pretty interesting. Also, sagittal crests are for jaw muscle anchoring and don't show up too much outside of the skeleton, but kudos for knowing the word. MOC-wise I really like the head, and the rest is sufficiently tiger like to be recognizable, spiked tail was a neat touch.
Thanks for the comments! Honestly the only reason I added the bit about he muscle mass in the chest was because that prefabricated piece I used for the front section is super hard to armor :P A sagittal crest, as far as I know, is caused when the temporalis muscle which is anchored on the sagittal crest is very large, usually from when the creature to which it belongs eats very tough or chewy foods, such as raw meat.

Oh, I hadn't noticed before but you need to add this to the group for it to qualify. Otherwise we'll probably forget about it, given who's judging here. :P

Really like the back armoring, and the body looks nice and solid.

Quoting Wolf Pack This is pretty good! The Nuva chest-plate works well as the head. By the way, when are you going to post Hades V2?
Funny thing about that: I have all the pictures taken, and I actually have V3 completely finished ... and it has been for almost 2 months ... Welcome to the world of utter laziness. I'll get it up next weekend. I'm going on a trip with my dad, so I can't for the next few days, and then there'll be school, and you know, life :P
