Hades, Silver Death: Variation the Second
yadda dee daa...
About this creation
Proof that I'm am singularly the most lazy MocPageser in existence: this was finished in JANUARY.

The build came together relatively fast. I'm pretty proud of the chest design, though admittedly it makes it a good bit more blocky than I liked (hence my redesigning it a couple weeks ago). The gears were also a stroke of luck for filler. It looked really weird without them.

Generally, I make my shoulders 2 or 3 studs wider than the shoulders, but using 4L stopped axles didn't fit with the gears and it also interfered with the shoulder mobility, so I used 5L stopped axles. It doesn't look too disproportionate, but the dark tan half-studs in there really get to me...

The back is much better armored than V1, but the lower areas are distinctly lacking. Thankfully, that was fixed in a really nice way on V3.

The plethora of colors in this single shot depresses me... Like all my MOCs so far, I used friction-held tires as filler. I really enjoy this technique.

Like I said about blockiness. I guess it isn't too bad... right?

The arm design. I think it worked out really well with the visorak feet, let me know what you guys think! Though admittedly it's a little sparsely armored on the inside of the forearm. Meh.

Like I said, it looks much better on the outside.

I'm particularly proud of how the upper leg looks. I'll probably be keeping this design for a while...

Not much to see here...

The hips are spectacularly badly armored. I'm still not so sure about how I feel about metru waists...

I redid the mask, and it's much cleaner, though I'd definitely like to replace it with something from Modalt Masks.

He can actually cross his arms, in a sense. I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered this. It's all in the elbow connections...

Just a traditional post. This particular one doesn't fit Hades' personality at all for some reason.

I was going for a sort of 'en garde' pose here. It didn't work out, as you can see, and really just ended up looking weird :P

This makes the sword look super big. Ah well.

The scythe turned out OK. The haft is a bit short (this has since been rectified), but it isn't a big deal. The problem with most scythes I've seen is that the head is too small, but I think I might have made mine a bit big. Maybe I'll lose the sawblades.

The scythe can be mounted on his back! That's the one thing that V2 has that V3 doesn't.

Sorry if this entire post seems rushed and haphazard. I'm really just going to do the full thing, including the new bio, when I post V3 sometime in the next few weeks. Good news is that I took a ton of pictures of all my new MOCs.

This is great! also, I have to inform you that my last posted creation (not poster or typed thingum) was posted in January of 2017, giving me the title of laziest. I still have 3 or 4 photographed unposted creations, and have for months. XP

Quoting Timeline 15 That painted mask is cool! The torso design is a bit...unfinished looking, mainly because of how much technic is on show, but good overall.
Quoting Wolf Pack This is much better than the original! Since you've already made V3, I'll wait to give suggestions until you post that. Great work!
Thanks guys! I agree about the technic exposure, thankfully it's mostly fixed in V3. Now I'm really motivated to post it... we'll see how long that lasts :P

Quoting Ivan Wanderer of the wasteland Dude, this is SO COOL! Also, I am WAY more lazy than you ( I still haven't posted a moc from august last year)
*Hands you a Laziest User Trophy* xD Thanks!

Quoting Runkbolt 12 This version is a vast improvement on the original. I like the arms, legs, and weapons. But I do think you should slim the waist a bit or make it taller along with the legs and arms. Just try to find some nice proportions and make it flow. Try adding in some smooth curved pieces to go with the mask design. Eg. nuva shoulders or star wars constraction, armour add ons.
Yes, waists are always a big problem for me. Thankfully, I recently saw a technique that I want to implement in my next MOC and if it works out, Hades V4. Thanks for the advice!
