The third of my four character spotlights featuring characters from my story! I apologize for the delay, and all future episodes will debut on Wednesday(providing there are no more delays!)
About this creation
A group of people walk through a forest, the man in the lead cutting a path. The woman says, "Are you sure this is the way?"
The man in the front says, "Trust me, this is the fastest way to the capital."
Another group, this time filled with skeletons, approaches from the other direction. The leader, seemingly faceless underneath his helmet, says, "Are you lost, travelers? Perhaps we can show you the way out."
"Stay back, creatures. This family is under my protection."
"It's not your choice. You'll be leaving with us, but you won't live to see it! Kill them all!" Both the armored man and the skeletons charge forward, preparing to engage in combat.
The man charges forward, pushing one of the skeletons against a tree and smashing another one to the ground while attacking another of the skeletons.
Suddenly, the man cries out in pain as another skeleton sinks his daggers into the man's neck, falling to the ground.
The family huddles closer together as the skeletons draw nearer with the faceless warrior. The faceless warrior says, "Now, will you come with us?"
Suddenly, an arrow sprouts from the back of a skeleton, making it fall to the ground. The warrior says, "What now?"
A woman stands behind the skeletons, bow at the ready. She says, "Stay away from the family, or I'll have to put you down."
"Ridiculous! As you can see, we far outnumber you. Kill the woman!" The skeletons charge forward, and the woman looses another arrow, hitting a skeleton straight in the head and making him fall to the ground.
She then quickly unsheathes a curved dagger from her belt and ducks as a skeleton attempts to cut her head off, stabbing into the chest of the skeleton.
As the body of the skeleton falls forward, the woman dodges back, narrowly avoiding the strike of yet another skeleton.
She quickly recovers and slices the back of the skeleton, watching as it falls, lifeless.
The warrior says, "Useless bags of bones! I'll kill you myself." He charges forward, axe at the ready.
The woman drops her bow and dodges back as the warrior's axe falls, narrowly avoiding the serrated blade.
The warrior then dodges back as the woman counters with her dagger, but falls to the ground as he does.
Finally, the woman dodges the warrior's last swing of his axe, and stabs deep into the heart, piercing the armor and slaying the warrior.
Having slain the warrior, the woman sheathes her dagger and picks her bow up off the ground.
The family walks forward in order to thank the woman. The man says, "Thanks for saving us all."
The child says, "Yeah, that was awesome!"
The woman says, "Who do we have to thank for saving us?"
"Call me Erin," Erin says, "Now, I must be going."
The woman says, "Wait! Will you help us get to the capital!"
The man says, "We can't survive out here on our own. We need someone to protect us."
"Follow me, then, and move quickly. The forest is not a place one should linger in for too long."
A few hours later, at the scene of the battle, another group investigates the battle. More faceless warriors have spread out across the scene, looking at the bodies.
A faceless warrior looks at the body of his comrade, then says, "My lady, whoever killed this one has a weapon of excellent craftsmanship. The weapon was powerful enough to slice clean through the armor."
Another faceless warrior, this one with a golden sword and a different helmet, says, "Whoever has slain one of our brothers must be slain at once!"
A woman in a black cloak says, "Patience, my friend, patience. Moving openly now would ruin our plans, and expose us all."
A third faceless warrior, crouching down and investigating the tracks in the mud, says, "My lady, I have found tracks moving east. It most likely is the survivors of the battle."
"Interesting. The same direction we are moving. The survivors appear to be running to the capital." The woman laughed. "There'll be no safety for them there, once our plans are complete."
Note: I'm sorry for the delay! I was extremely busy over the weekend, and as such was unable to complete this on time.
