1/87th HO Scale Fire Station
For most of my teenage years I was an avid model railroader in HO scale. When I turned 16 I joined the hometown V.F.D in Kimball WV. I had a massive fire station on my layout. I had many years of enjoyment with this hobby. Now many years later ,having collected a fleet of 1/64th scale CODE 3 die cast models and built 2 stations for them. The question came to mind, How small could you go in scale with LEGO,s and still be true to the scale? I decided to find out. I bought 4 HO scale trucks typical of rural FD's with limited water supplies [Engines & Tankers} and proceeded to build a station in 1/87th scale. I based it off of the my hometown FD, but it is in no way an exact replica. My hope is that you agree that it is possible to build with LEGO's in this smaller scale. Like and comment both positive and negative are appreciated and welcome. Have a great week and keep on Brickin. Jimmie

Quoting Alexander Lutz Very Nice! I did not grow up with the model trains this station was sized to fit with, but I can still appreciate a good station design! It'd be nice to see a few new minifig-scale trucks too!
Thanks for stopping by and liking Alexander. Sadly this station is sitting on the last bit of display space that I have. The only new build from me will be my 3rd 1/64th scale station which hopefully will be done sometime next year. I would love to be able to build more minifig scale trucks, I just don't Have space to display any more. Have a great day and keep on brickin.

Quoting Seaman SPb Nostalgia! :) I did not have a full-fledged model of the railway in my childhood, but I always adored micro-machines.

Quoting Sven ;o) Jimmie my brother, this is a fantastic lookin fire station with plenty of detail while being so small in scale. It's quite a challenge finding building/design solutions for interiors and exteriors in this scale and you managed that very very well. Bravo on a job done to absolute perfection and thank you so much for taking your time for a very nice and lovely skype talk yesterday. Was really a blessing to hear and see you :) Love, Sven & Julia
I too really enjoyed our face time on Skype yesterday. I am sooooo happy that you like the new station. The third station while in limbo for quite some time must be absolutely perfect because of its importance to us both. I am sure that together we can overcome the problems I have encountered in this build. Much love hugs and greets From Jill Gary and I to you and Julia, our much missed German family. Take care and have a great week'

The amount of detail put into this station is outstanding! I'm especially a fan of the roll up doors, hope to see more creations from you soon!
