Reserve Engine 501 previously served at both the busiest and the slowest fire houses in the city before being relegated to reserve duty. RE501 is a fully equipped reserve (except for PPE and perishable paramedic supplies) that can be utilized when frontline rigs undergo regular maintenance.
About this creation
RE501 is built on the Seagrave Marauder II chassis.
All compartments open on this rig!
The low hosebed holds 750 ft of 2.5” attack hose and 750 ft of 4” large diameter hose.
Ground ladders are stored on the officer’s side for rapid deployment.
RE501 can be staffed by call-back firefighters during times of great need.
Reserve Engine 501 previously served as Engine 5 and Engine 12 and was the last engine purchased with the older compartment configuration. Rigs purchased after 2005 had all roll-up compartments, internal ground ladder storage, and a larger hose bed. RE501 is housed at Station 1.
