Brand new Engine 1 was one of five brand new apparatus purchased with the LEMA grant. The old Engine 1 will be moved to Station 13 where it will serve as Engine 13.
About this creation
The Seagrave Marauder II is a time tested cab that Castle Beach Fire Department has used for over two decades.
Under the cross lays is the engineer’s compartment where the assigned engineer keeps his gear and other miscellaneous equipment. Special thanks to CC for inspiring many of the pump elements including the discharges and the levers.
Here, the compartment is opened.
As the primary engine company out of Station 1, Engine 1 is equipped to mitigate a wide variety of calls including fire, EMS, limited hazmat, and limited technical rescue.
The rear of the apparatus stores couplings and other loose equipment.
The rear hosebed has also been changed to accommodate an additional 500’ of 3” attack hose.
Engine 1 is staffed by four firefighters, one of whom is a paramedic.
All the compartments in the officer’s side open as well.
The ALS compartment is located directly under the cross lays for rapid access.
This compartment stores the life saving medications and equipment that patients need.
Engine 1 is the second busiest engine in the fleet, responding to over 20 calls a day.
Top of the apparatus shows the NightScan, moveable scene lights, a booster reel, the 2000 gpm monitor, extra foam cans, and traffic cones.
Castle Beach Fire Department has taken delivery of another brand new Seagrave Marauder II Triple Combination as part of the five apparatus order thanks to the LEMA grant. This apparatus will be placed in service as Engine 1 and will run alongside Truck 1 and Engine 201 to form Task Force 1. As the primary engine company for Station 1, this rig is equipped for a wide variety of calls including fire, EMS, vehicle extrication, and spill cleanup.
