This a build I spontaneously put together a couple months ago, a bit before the uploader broke (still not over the fact that it's back :D). It really wanted to build something a little bit more involved, and I also needed to work on my wall texturing, and this was the result. I hope you enjoy!
Yeahyeahyeah shut up about there being no door. It was intentional. I feel like it gives the build a different feel from most of my others. I spent quite a bit of time on the front detailing and terrain layering.
I put a lot of work into the wall texturing, and I think it turned out quite well, compared to my previous medieval builds.
I feel like I could have done something more with the back of the lodge, maybe added an outbuilding or something. Ah well, maybe next time.
This is pretty much the first time that one of my buildings has had a more irregular shape. I guess it's just been a while since I've done a MOC of a building.
You have literally no clue how long it took me to get the smokestack right. Sure it doesn't look like much, but believe me, it took a while. I'm still not entirely satisfied with it, but I guess its too late now, seeing as how the build has been ripped apart for a while.
I don't really like the tree, but its better than what TLC does (edit: pffff who am I kidding no it isn't).
The interior was very much a last minute thing, although I'm relatively happy with how it turned out.
I'm definitely proud of how I did the sword rack, although the design it's the most space efficient, and it's definitely illegal...
The light brick in the fire place was something I kinda just decided to include as a last minute thing. I turned out quite well though, and the fireplace in general is one of the highlight of the build, in my opinion.
Really nice build! I'll give you some constructive criticism even though you've broken it already. :P
The landscape is good, but it could use some more work. The tree is, like you said, not too great.
The walls, especially around the back, are great! I think the front could go with some more masonry bricks though.
The roof is a bit odd. Maybe try using some slopes, hinges, and plates to make a sloped roof. And that smoke looks PERFECT.
The interior is actually pretty nice, and I like the bunk bed design. In that era (and made up worlds set in that era), people spent more time outside than in, and a empty interior is pretty accurate.
So overall, great work! Can't wait to see the next one!
