After I build a Venice variation of set 1592 I started to expand this toppic. From autuum 2003 on several buildings were realised: Il Campanile, bridge of sighs, Rialto bridge, Doge's Palace, several houses, gondolas and other typical stuff from Venice.
Isn't it marvelous the way LEGO can not only take you back in time BUT transport you to another place.
When a set is done as expertly as you did Venice the use of your imagination and skill makes it easy.
It's like a photograph was taken!
Your Venice Postcards were

And it's my favorite place to visit in Italy!
And it will be one of my favorite places to visit here!
this is truly a masterpiece! So many details! The cathedral type building with the diamond-shaped pattern on the sides is breath-taking! Congrats on MOTD, after having this posted for 4 years! How does that work anyway?!?!
Wow. That's...fascinating....I love it all, it perfect and very( almost identical) to the real one. I would love to go to Venice someday. It seems like a magical place..Oh by the way, have you ever read the book "The Thief Lord" by Cornelia Funke? It takes place in Venice. Keep it brickish!
What a lovely city (between Rome and Venice I fell deeply in love for the first time, so I have quite good recollections of both places, and this one captures the atmosphere of Venice quite accurately), what an amazingly beautiful MOC...
