The special touches I added to my Cafe Corner model, including a fully furnished and electrified interior, and a rooftop garden.
About this creation
While I was happy to complete my Cafe Corner set, the thing that was immediately missing in my opinion was a lack of interiors. Also, the fence on the roof seemed to imply a rooftop deck, but there were no trees or any way for a minifig to get up to the roof. Addressing these oversights became my next obvious Lego project.

The upstairs were obviously intended to be the "Hotel". However, it soon became obvious the upstairs was way too small to be an actual hotel, so I added an 's' to the sign and decided the upstairs would be a shared-space youth hostel instead. I decided to do the first floor as a cafe, which the building plan seemed to intend and actually left plenty of room for.

The main photo above is an overview of the youth hostel's first floor (the building's 2nd fl), which includes a lobby/reception area and the girl's room. (The top floor of the building, not pictured, was the boy's room and a small bath. Due to the configuration and size, I couldn't get any good clear photos of either of those.)

Detailed pics of the hostel's first floor.

An overview pic of the Cafe's seating area, followed by a a detailed pic that shows one of the electric lights, attached to the ceiling.

Pics of the kitchen area. It has a stove, range hood, small fridge, & signboard. The close up pic shows the details of the coffeemaker. Unpictured are a small sink and a cash register to the right.

The view from the street.

Creating the garden area was alot of fun. I think it came out really nice.

While it was an engineering challenge, I finally figured out how to create an opening in the roof, and a hinged skylight door. I continued the interior stairs to meet this rooftop doorway.

Great interior. I love the lights and the roof terrace. The inner walls do look a bit strange, probably due to a lack of bricks.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I got the lights from, which is the only place I found that has lights you don't have to assemble yourself. I've been awful about putting up any new photos, but I'll hopefully have some brand new MOCs up in the next month or so.

Very nice details. You've done an excellent work with lights. What kind of lights have you used?

VERY nice and detailed! I love almost everything you added to the Cafe Corner, I know you didn't build the whole Place though, you just added to the interior. The garden roof is O.k. I know you probably tried hard on it but it's ok, but the interior is awesome! Nice Job! ~Anthony~
