Drawbar Truck Trailer
My three-axle trailer with a drawbar - in two versions and for different kinds of trucks. Minifig-scale and a 7-stud-wide construction, this trailer combines realistic aspects with playability: Being suitable for the loading of 4to7-stud-wide vehicles or cargo, it is just very practical and tons of fun to play with. The trailers of this kind can also be connected to each other, something I used for creating my Australian Road Train.

Great trailer design. I see what you mean about the scale. The 7-wide idea for a hauler is good and I can see how the windscreen isn't a problem for a long nosed truck (like your helicopter transporter) but how would you overcome the windscreen problem on a cab-over truck? Maybe we can lay this down as some kind of challenge lol! I suppose side posts could be used and leave the glass area blank. Some lego models such as the latest ferrari truck does this but I do prefer a proper windscreen. I've just made a transporter for the Class 37 based on a MAN tractor unit. I've sort of taken your idea on board and made the trailer 9-wide but left the tractor unit 8-wide. I was going to do it 7-wide but I've experimented with a patio window being used as the windscreen which meant it had to be 8-wide. I'll post it soon. I totally agree with you about the train motors. I bought my little sister the remote control passenger train set and thought it was ok but not a patch on the old 12v system. It definitely lacks power. I don't like the way that 12v, 9v and remote control track are not compatible with each other. A bit of a con I reckon. I hate having to rely on batteries to power the new trains. Maybe Lego will bring out their own batteries so they can cash in on it. Lego does seem to be more expensive these days.
