This is one of those ships that I ended up designing around a particular part. In this case, it was the engine. I was sitting around, toying with different ideas for an engine, since I felt the one on my earlier Starfire was lacking. So with that, I borrowed some ideas off the Starfire to add to this creation. I ended up naming it after one of the freelance fighters Found in Star Wars Galaxies, since once it was done, I noticed it sort of resembled it. They dont look all that much alike, but there is some family resemblance.
Anyway. Here she is.
(Comments for the picturess are below them this time)
Head on view. I'm still trying to amass the parts needed to be able to keep my mocs down to a two maybe 3 color scheme, but for the mean time, its going to be 4 colors. I brought over the tri fin design over from the Starfire. I was going to keep it smooth and finless up there, but with the bulk of the engines rising so high, it looked a bit out of place. I decided to add them to give it more balance. I'm getting closer and closer to making these fully studless. Its just a matter of amassing the parts to do it.
Here's a look under the wing. You can see the dual laser cannons, the warhead launcher (with the red cone) and the ion cannons (blue cone). (the other wing is identical)
Here's a shot from behind. You can see the pair of large engines on the outside of the wings, and the triple thruster/boosters on the main body. Also, there is a vain attempt of greebling, with the pair of hoses running coolant into the underside of the wings.
These two shots are of the engine itself. I attempted to greeble the top, and the sides. I'm still trying to master that art. Some of you people can greeble like its nothing.
Here's a shot of the cockpit. Its a little cramped, but then again, most fighters are.
This is the navigators station.
This is the Engineer's station. He's got more consoles than he knows what to do with.
Lastly, this is an overall shot of the inside, with the crew in place.
I can sympathize with your lack of color coordination, especially when the shaping is this good. This is just one of those models where all of the different sections (cockpit, engines, etc.) go together perfectly. Eliminating just one color (try yellow or orange) from your ship will make it a lot better. Great job!
