Dragonfly II Gunship
Got Firepower?
About this creation
As well-trained as your troops may be, there are often battles where the key factor is sheer firepower. This is where the Dragonfly comes in.
X6 AN-9 GPS guided missiles
X1 HAILSTORM unguided rocket pod with 24 rockets, and ability to store 72 on board chopper for re-loading
X1 GA-8 Gatling gun with 2500 rounds of ammo
Here, you can see the GA-8. Gunners must be weary when using this due to the fact that during sustained fire, ammo can be used up in as little as 18 seconds.
Here is the weapons bay. Folding doors where chose in place of pylons to reduce the helicoptor's RCS (Radar Cross Section)

The other weapons bay.

The Dragonfly's profile. Using radar-absorbant material and 4th generation stealth technology, we where able to reduce the Dragonfly's RCS dramatically.

One problem with conventional cockpits are the postition of controls. If the pilot has to look down for even a split second, especially in a battle, the pilot may not notice a threat, and be shot down. Because of this, many controls have been integrated into the HUD.

Here is the star of the show, the RADAR. With the ability to pick up 40+ targets, asess is they are friend or foe, and relay them to other allies, this is a very advanced piece of equipment. Also, it can go into ECCM (Radar Jammer) mode.

This is a sick model. Worthy of it's own place in a catalog. Love the cockpit and landing gear. I can see why you spotted the A-10 insperation.

This design looks alot like the Mi-24 Hind. I think thats right but it may be a different model. Great moc. Andrew

This thing looks almost perfectly realistic, and there's some amazing use of SNOT and angles in it. Really, what more do I need to say? It's awesome. Keep up the great work.

Very stealthy looking. I agree with Michael about the rotor size and placement. Other than that, it's fantastic.

Wow, I'm glad to see you've gotten some actual moc's up. I must have missed them before. The nice angles look fantastic.

A slightly bigger rotor moved a few studs forward would improve it in my opinion. Nice job! -- -- Michael

Very nice! I love the cockpit. I am not really a fan of the weapons, though. Besides that, though, it is very good.

Wow, thatīs a great and very unconventional, stealthy lookinī chopper! Quite massive, too - great job! The three rotor wings look good, but Iīd love to see such a big helicopter with maybe 5 rotor wings. Do you think thatīs possible? Anyways, 3 or 5, an odd number, always looks great!

Very nicely done. The cockpit and surrounding armor plates are perfect. The only thing I would recommend for change is maybe a little more detail on the outside armor plates. Perhaps exhaust vents, or a rack for carrying supplies? Overall though, a job very well done.

Yes, the cockpit is sheer gold and the angles you've used on the body give the heli a stealthy look. VERY impressive.
