The Lonely People
aka "Spot the Indiana Jones pieces"
About this creation
"All the lonely people, where do they all come from?"

A follow-up to The Irregulars, which I recommend checking out.

Note: As many of you may have guessed, the naming scheme behind The Irregulars was Alice in Wonderland. I mention it only because the naming scheme this time around is a little more obscure, depending on your taste in music.

The gang.
- - - - -

Name: Rocky
Base of operation: Phoenix (formerly the black mining hills of Dakota)
Weapon of choice: Buzz saw. Shot in the stomach in a fight over a girl, Rocky moved south and abandoned the typical firearm for the less typical power tool. But his taste in weaponry doesn’t make him any less deadly. Have you ever heard of a buzzsaw-proof vest? No? Well there you go.
Claim to fame: Offing the Dormouse in a milk bottling facility.
Fun fact: Is lactose intolerant, which makes the milk bottle job all the more impressive.
- - - - -

Name: Desmond Jones
Base of operation: Seattle
Weapon of choice: Throwing knives. A former circus sideshow performer, Desmond had a barrow in the marketplace before the death of his girl Molly thrust him into the killing racket. Today, he’s the nerviest, speediest, deadliest man with a set of knives you’ll ever know. Don’t run: he’ll nail you from fifty paces, and he’ll have fun doing it.
Claim to fame: Putting three in the White Rabbit’s chest before the Rabbit could say “ob-la-di.”
Fun fact: Is colorblind, ambidextrous, and double-jointed in his fingers, wrists, shoulders, knees, and toes.
- - - - -

Name: Maxwell Edison
Base of operation: Baltimore
Weapon of choice: Hammer. More of a mallet, really, and a comically large one at that. Maxwell's first kills were personal: his college sweetheart, his professor, and the judge at his murder trial. Only after evading the death penalty did he begin murdering for money. His silver hammer may not be the most concealable of weapons, but it certainly does the job.
Claim to fame: Well, see, the Lory was in Baltimore for the weekend, taking in the sights. But as he’s getting ready to go, a noise comes from behind. BANG, BANG: Maxwell’s silver hammer came down on his head. BANG, BANG: Maxwell’s silver hammer made sure he was dead.
Fun fact: Was planning to major in medicine before the whole bludgeoning-people-to-death thing got in the way.
- - - - -

Name: Doctor Robert
Base of operation: Zurich
Weapon of choice: 9mm. Like any good hitman, Robert is available 24/7: day or night, he’ll be there any time at all. The Good Doctor, though well dressed, is a madman to the highest degree. Just look at those eyes.
Claim to fame: Blowing away the Cheshire Cat in Father Mackenzie’s church.
Fun fact: Has six toes on one foot, and four toes on the other.
- - - - -

Name: Mr. Mustard
Base of operation: Tokyo
Weapon of choice: Katana. Mean Mister Mustard is the Headless Horseman of the modern age. His victims are always found… shorter. Missing a part of the body that really shouldn’t be missing. Decapitated, the term is. If Mr. Mustard has your name, I wish I could say it’s nothing to lose your head over, but it’d be a lie.
Claim to fame: Beheading the Gryphon during his Japan vacation. The fella never saw it coming. Such a mean old man.
Fun fact: Gobbles up Reese’s Pieces like E.T. on a bender.
- - - - -

Name: Lucy
Base of operation: Belfast
Weapon of choice: Twin revolvers. Picture yourself in a boat on a river, with tangerine trees and marmalade skies. Now picture sweet little Lucy pressing the barrel of a .44 Magnum against the back of your head and sending you to the bottom of said river. Murder and mayhem isn’t entirely a man’s game. Lucy more than holds her own against the worst of the worst. Beautiful, deadly, and as elusive as they come. You may see, out of the corner of your eye, the girl with the sun in her eyes, but turn around… and she’s gone.
Claim to fame: Showing the Mock Turtle how they do things in Belfast.
Fun fact: Is a piano virtuoso.
- - - - -

Name: Mr. Kite
Base of operation: Florence
Weapon of choice: Chainsaw. Cursed with a skin affliction that turns his flesh pink instead of the natural yellow, Mr. Kite went from art dealer to killer when society’s taunting became too much to bear. He wields a chainsaw; the first weapon he could find. Loud? Very. Effective? Doubly so.
Claim to fame: Dismembering the Mad Hatter on Saturday at Bishop’s Gate, by the light of a Florentine sunset.
Fun fact: Blood from his first victim splattered a Jackson Pollock piece, and nobody noticed. The painting sold for $2.3 million.
- - - - -

Name: Unknown
Base of operation: Unknown
Weapon of choice: Unknown. Almost nothing is known of this nowhere man, sitting in his nowhere land, making all his nowhere plans, for whomever deserves them. Mysterious as what-all, but boy, does he get the job done.
Claim to fame: Killing the March Hare… somehow.
Fun fact: Can burp the alphabet.

NOTE: Apparently the naming scheme wasn't as obscure as I'd feared. Good to know Beatlemania is alive and well. My faith in humanity is restored.

It's so sad to see that people have to resort to violence to solve their problems. They should just learn that all you need is love (or cash, depending on who you're listening to).

Loved all the Alice in Wonderland and Beatles references. I'm honestly surprised that so many people knew they were originally by the Beatles, since their songs have been redone so much (Such as Eleanor Rigby, which was redone by gOdhead). Great job on it, by the way

I Love all the Beatle refrances! Like "all the Lonley People" is from Elanor Rigby. You should make a refrance to the Beatle song "Being for the Benifit of Mr. Kite" for you character Mr. Kite

wonderful naming scheme... but where is dear prudence? or sgnt pepper?... and how could you forget "the walrus"? shame, shame, shame... no realy they are amazing. i love your clever way of dropping beatles lyrics and alice in wonderland references... p.s. other names you missed include: SADIE, PAM (polethene pam), JUDE, JOJO (get back) and BILLY SHEARS ( said at the end of sgnt pepper's lony heart's club band before it fades into with a little help from my friends)

Forget these blades and blunt instruments -- any true fan knows that Happiness is a Warm Gun. You'd pay money just to see yourself with Dr Robert.
