Bell Tower Mansion / Former Monastery (12V-illuminated)
It all started out with an architecture class during 12th grade. We had to build a model house, and I begged our pretty easy going teacher to permit me to do it in Legos. This is what came out of it: My Bell Tower Mansion, which was supposed to be a monastery in former times. Large parts of it were illuminated by 12V lights, which made it look amazing at night:) It contained 5 balconies, some nice walkways around the inner courtyard, a fountain inmidst of that yard, a garage/stable, 8 bedrooms, a wine cellar, a big entrance portal and a pub as well as a living/community room in the tower. The tower itself held a real bell which I fixed underneath its roof. About this creation
This is the illuminated mansion, being integrated into one of my town layouts. The second, pretty bad quality picture shows a close-up view into the illuminated inner courtyard.

The front view: Stairs, a big entrance portal with a wine cellar underneath, and on both sides two rooms on two floors, the top one on each side providing a balcony. The inside and outside of the entrance hall is very well illuminated, as it can be seen on the picture above. In the entrance hall (not visible on the pics), wide center stairs led up to the first floor walkways, and two smaller stairways went down to the groundfloor´s walkways, to the bedrooms, to the wine cellar and the courtyard.

The back side of the building complex, underneath the blinding sun. A big gate opened the way to the former stable which nowadays was supposed to be used as a garage. The garage, only separated from the inner courtyard by the quadratic walkway on the ground floor and two leg-high iron doors, can easily receive two cars in minifig-scale. On both sides of the tower, two rooms, a couple of studs shorter than the ones on the other side of the building, complete the ground floor level. On the first floor, two rooms on both sides are separated from the tower by the endings of the first floor´s walkways. The tower room can only be reached by these walkways and contains a pub/bar type locality, from which a ladder leads to the second (a simple living/community room) and even third floor of the tower, to where the big bell is fixed (the highest level of the tower, having balconies on both sides). An additional balcony can be seen on the first floor, right next to the roof of the ground floor´s big gate.

The side view of the mansion: between the bedroom unities is an old gravestone, at which the minifig directly looks while coming out of the small side gate.

The entire complex could just be turned open, which allowed quite a nice perspective in the innerst of the walkways and yard. Also, the fixing of the 12V illumination is pretty well visible.

And a bird´s-eye view:

great moc!!! but id check if its a mansion. the National Society of Realtors defines a mansion as a dwelling of 8000sq ft of living space or more. thats 10000 studs in minifig scale, buddy.

You have a great nack for detail. All of your town pieces make me want to switch sides from space to town...but we'll see where it all goes in time. Great lighting! (And yes, Silent Hill is my favorite series. Its hard to find any monster as iconic as Pyramid Head. 1 and 3 were my favorites. Origins was a great portable, and Homecoming was visually stunning. The movie was ehhh....but Pyramid Head was awesome!)

Lovely. You've used soooo many red sloped pieces, but the different roof construction make it all extremely interesting. Once again, well done on lighting it up!

WOW. You have a lot of red sloped pieces. I'm so jealous. I have always wanted to make something like this, but lack of the red pieces has always foiled. I LOVE it to death! It's so perfect in the sense that nothing is over-done or incomplete. I love the open area in the middle, and if this were a real house, I'd be the first to buy it... if I had the money. :P

You have one of the best Lego cities I've seen on MOCpages. The way you illuminated this house is pretty brilliant.. Wish I knew how to do that.

This mansion packs a lot of interest into a fairly small footprint. While it looks good in white and red, I bet it would look nice in tan and red as well. Is it based on a real structure?
