Calvary Chapel plane (CCM-242 "Dove") fictional cargo plane
Inspired by the the Calvery Chapel Dove in the last picture
About this creation
I have wanted to make a minifig scale pelican (halo), and I also wanted to build a minifig scale fighter plane. So I sorta combined the two with a third idea of building a "Dove" (see last picture).

Features retractable landing gear.

Also features moving flaps, ailerons, elevator, and rudder.

the wings can be removed, (but they don't fall off) to reveal the troop bay...

and pilot compartment, complete with opening/closing door. :-)

front and side shots.

You may notice I added a red light piece when I didn't know what to put there. :-)

The back doubles as a ramp as seen in the picture with the top removed

The dove in the top left is the inspiration for the model.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you like it. :-)

This is in fact based (loosely) on the Calvary Chapel dove logo(Hence CCM the ,M, standing for Mechanicsville), also the 242 comes from the name of our church's lobby, which in turn comes from Acts 2:42, hence the "Calvary Chapel Mechanicsville - Acts 2:42" or "CCM-242 Dove" for short.
The inspiration came from talking with a friend at church with a dove shaped pin, and since he knows I'm into planes started joking it was an F-15 Dove. I corrected him saying first of all there was no Dove, and second of all there was already an F-15 Eagle.
That inspired me to make a "Dove" airplane, so one week later I surprised him with this!

This is a very nice plane. It's nice and beefy, which looks good for a cargo carrier. My only little suggestion is that you perhaps put two wheels on each set of rear landing gear. Right now, the two wheels don't look like they would support the aircraft in real life.

A great, unconventional shape and very good use of all those wing plates - great job! Steffen

Thomas, this looks like a nice minifig build. The landing gear, cockpit and the internal room for troop transport are nice touches.
