Tsmi-Lee Yun, mediocre Jedi minifigure faces the foe.
How many different ways can you break a battle droid? Woops, he missed one.
Lethal surprises are such lovely things...
...for the one doing the surprising.
I finally got up the guts to try this oneÖand discovered it surprisingly easy after about four days of work and twice that of looking at it. This gravity-defying walker was yet another excursion into the walking battle machine theory. Others include the famed AT-AT (All Terrain Armored Transport), AT-IC (All Terrain Ion Cannon), AT-AP (All Terrain Attack Pod), AT-PT (All Terrain Personnel Transport), AT-AA (All Terrain Anti-Aircraft), AT-OT (All Terrain Open Transport), AT-ST (All Terrain Scout Transport), and a plethora of others I canít remember. Most of these have been MOCed on this site at least once (save, so far as I know, the AT-AA) but nobody has paid due attention to the AT-XT (All Terrain Experimental Transport) featured in the Clone Wars video game and Clone Wars Volume 3 Last Stand on Jabiim. In light of these facts I built, if not the first or ultimate version, at least a version.
The AT-XT was armed (conspicuously) with four blaster cannons on chin for anti-infantry purposes as well as a large pair of rear mounted laser cannons for vehicles and other large targets. I believe it seats a single clone driver, this is, after all a GAR vehicle, most likely made by the same chaps who made several of the above mentioned walkers and the AT-TE. It was deployed liberally on Jabiim and (I think) Raxus Prime, Rhen Var, and other worlds during the first half of the war. If you havenít noticed Iím no expert on this one so excuse (but never ignore) any inaccuracies in the description.
Sorry about the lousy interior but I had to at least try to keep this thing light enough for those bird legs.
The STAP here is a mod of the one in the Droid Battle Pack because I donít like the official one and I wanted something in here to help out the tinnies.
For the little imp inside us all that just likes seeing things go boom.
[The following is non-canonical, fanfiction]
Jedi dropout Tsmi-Lee Yun was a Jedi knight whose policies on attachment, separation of council and senate, and maverick mentality brought him where Qui-Gon would be without deftness.
To put it another way, Tsmi got married four days after being knighted, insisted on removing the Jedi from the Senateís control so that they could act immediately and autonomously, and had a marginal midichlorian count. Tsmi had heard rumor of the Councilís dislike for him so he conveniently Ďlostí his lightsaber to a bounty hunter on his last mission and retrieved it after his expulsion. Said bounty hunter was actually his wife, Ierre Yun, a Taras Kasi adept who had turned the martial art into a lucrative moneymaker. Despite his persecution, Tsmi-Lee maintained Ďinternal serenityí or perhaps something better judging from his constantly jovial mood.
Twenty odd years passed Ďtil, in 27 BBY Tsmi-Lee and his wife had a son they named Tiraff after Tsmiís departed master. There was a nasty incident involving mercenaries, misunderstandings, and bounty hunting that left Tsmi half dead and his wife and son missing. After a lot of Bacta, Tsmi systematically arrested every surviving mercenary and gave a long sentence on Kessel, with a few very unrepeatable comments to send them on their way.
By the time the Clone Wars broke out like a river from a breached dam, Tsmi had convinced himself that his family was dead or did not want to be found. Now his smile hid a weary and grieving mind, a thing few understood even in the GAR Volunteer Officer Academy. Though he had changed his name and carried falsified ID docs, his Force sensitivity, so plainly felt by other Jedi, soon betrayed his identity to the Jedi general he served under. The Council was not at all pleased to find the renegade still wielding his weapon but not necessarily as a Jedi should. Some, Yoda, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Oppo Rancisis favored taking the peculiar oneís lightsaber as they should have decades ago, if not interring him so he would not join darksiders like Kadrian Sey, Tol Skorr, and Soara Bulq. Fortunately for Tsmi, the majority of the Council members decided there was little short of imprisoning Tsmi that could keep him from building other weapons and continuing to use the Force as he had since his expulsion, besides, he was now under the jurisdiction of the Republic Military. The decision was made: Tsmi-Lee Yun would be submitted to an array of trials by various masters in the field to test his competence and self-control. Should he succeed, he would be installed as a Jedi shadow, have his records, official and otherwise, destroyed, and perform various covert espionage missions taboo to the bulk of the Order. Should he prove a loose cannon, he would be removed from active duty, his lightsaber would be taken and he be monitored by the Jedi for the rest of his life.
He was on Toola, under the watchful eyes of two masters and a youthful Padawan, when Palpatine declared the Jedi traitors and enforced Contingency Order 66. Most historians believe he was killed by stray blasterfire, or at least that was the official report. Years later, Luke Skywalker, would find the remains of a Jedi library hidden on Toola, kept by a long perished victim of the Purge. Though the identity of the Jedi is unknown, Tsmiís son, pirate Captain Tirraff Yun, insists the site was where his father fought VaderÖand lost.
Thanks to my pal Derek for the dark grey joint caps and thanks to God who gives me my marginal abilities.
Would it possible for you to make some vague instructions for the main body of the AT-XT. Thanks, please respond on whether you do or do not make some instructions, as I do not wish to check back to you page all the time.
