This is my entry for Dakota Vaughan's third contest entry, The Seventh Shadow Toa. Vote here: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/57592
About this creation
Denmalsi was once Makuta Teridax's apprentice, created from a kraata, a Noble mask of corruption (Kanohi Jutlin), and energized protodermis. He learned everything he could about shadow, only to discover that, one day, he didn't like it. Makuta's mistake was creating a minion from the same material that makes up the soul of regular toa, therefore Denmalsi saw the evil in Teridax and his world.
He abandoned Teridax, jumping from island to island, hoping to find companions, until he came across the Shadow Toa, led by Negative (See "The Land of Pie", a Mocpage by Dakota Vaughan). He asked to join them, feeling he would be great help to them and they good companions, but his request is still pending. For now, he follows the shadow toa, leaving them be, but never abandoning them, waiting for his answer.
Note to Dakota: I know I said I'd do a drawing, but I ran out of time to finish it (no shading) due to a busy schedule from school events and what-not. I think I'll still post it as a miscellaneous page when I finish it, but it is not going in the contest.
Main pose. The sword arm has more muscle (or proto, whatever bionicle muscle is called) so the armor is molded differently on that arm.
The sword, created from folded protosteel. It has no special power other than insane durability. The steel has been folded so many times that not even energized weapons can break it.
However, his noble mask of corruption, though not as strong as Antroz's Jutlin (Makuta Teridax knew that more than one Great Jutlin would spell disaster should the wearere rebel), can corrode and soften armor, as tough as protosteel, to the point where his sword can easily penetrate it. Because of the way the mask is shaped, Denmalsi has difficulty seeing through it, but also relies on instictive tracking and energy tracing learned from Teridax to determine where friends and foes alike are, and to much success, as those who encounter them seldom like it.
The wings. They allow him to fly. He's extremely fast for a toa, flying or running.
A view of the claw, the wings up, and the sword posed.
I don't know if a sword is the best weapon for this kind of design, yet I have a soft spot for black/dark red bionicles. A good job! I would really like to see this design applied to a titan-size figure. Please... :)
