Zoar Hovership
A tribute to the original Matrix model by Jamie Neufeld.
About this creation
September 2005: Sold on Ebay

November 2004

Jamie Neufeld crafted an original Matrix moc a while back, around the time Adrian Drake posted his Nebuchadnezzar and Jon Palmer was working on Yoshimi (which I don't think he's ever finished and posted). Jamie's model, the Zoar, was a compact two-man hovership that slipped nicely into heirarchy of Lego Matrix creations. It's one of the models that inspired me to get into the theme.

There are some personal touches I've made to the Zoar, most notably to the main hoverpads. I've swapped the original tires Jamie used for the brilliant tire + visors technique devised by "Gingivere," who's real name constantly slips my mind.

I've also changed the rearmost hoverpads, the smaller ones, and given them a bit more bulk with some tires.

The rear gunner cockpit has also changed, mostly because I couldn't see a lot of the construction from the pics online. I had to make up some stuff, and I didn't go for anything particularly fancy.

This is one of very few mocs that I've reconstructed based on online pics, and it was quite a challenge.

Awesome model Jamie! Thanks for all the inspiration.

Great work on the interpretation, Ryan! I like your your hoverpod solution, and the added details here and there.
