Claymore Combat Armor
An Experiment
About this creation
Official Designation: MBCA-X1 Military Biped Combat Armor Experimental 1 "Claymore" Data Collection

1 20mm Cannon
1 Flame Thrower (Range 150m)
Weight: 6.2 Tons
Max Speed: 58 kph

This is my first attempt at making combat armor with the cockpit that can open up all the way, not just having a tranparent canopy that opens in one direction. The name is original Gaelic (Ancient Irish) for Claymore, the massive two-handed sword that Scotsmen such as William Wallace wielded with such ferocity in the middle ages.

This suit has a "real" (as real as a plastic one can get) flamethrower.

This suit is plagued by weak joints (I didn't use any click joints) in an attempt to make the armor somewhat shorter, it didn't really work but it was an idea. The joints do have enough strength, and it is well balanced enough to stand in a rather extreme one-legged stance:)

To me the reverse joint legs ended up an ugly idea especially because they turned out so thin
(from the side view)

Unfortunately, the cockpit sides only open up just enough to allow the pilot to step out w/o getting stuck.

This is what he sees

This is what we see... which would you prefer?
