I realise my other creations posted aren't exactly amazing; it's a case of doing the best you can with what you have available ...
... But now; I've teamed up with a friend and to cut a long story short we're going to build one of the biggest scale model lego cars ever ... (er, with the exception of that full scazle volvo SUV at legoland california) .
The car of choice; the Lamborghini Cala . Read up on it if you want :)
The scale ; 1/3 .
It's gonna be huge. And weigh a ton. But we're determined to do it *well* ; make it something memorable.
This is just a the introduction to the build log; so stay tuned, as quite often I shall be posting pictures and updates on how the progress is going ...
P.S. If you are looking to buy lego for your creations, I would like to recommend the following Bricklink lego shop ; "About Town, Castle & Train" ( http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=stacey_love )
I personally know the shopholders, and they are very nice, devoted people. They are currently sponsoring 100% of my 1/3 Lamborghini project, providing all of the parts; and have made various other donations to other models I have made.
The store has a wide selection of parts (over 600,000!), at good prices, and offer an exceptional, fast service (no tax or dodgy exchange rates, next day postage, etc). you won't be disappointed !

Are you going to make the wheels out of three technic wheels lined up, like the wheels on the 2005 8420 Street Bike?
Nope ... no lego wheels are big enough, so we'll be making wheels out of smaller lego parts; this means the tires won't be rubber but black bricks, but well that's the kind of limitation you get with such a big scale thing...
It's coming on now, actually - in only 6 days since you posted a comment and I replied that it's getting nowhere; we've received some parts and now the chassis and parts of the suspension and engine bay are now finished - you can see the chassis on the build diary 2 !
I'm intriged! 1:3 might be a bit ambitious though; as pointed out below, that's over 4 feet long, 2.5 feet wide and the wheels alone would have to be half a foot across. Still, if you've done your measurements you'll already know all that and anyway, you can't back out now!! Good luck!!
I'm surprised I'm getting votes on this page lol I haven't uploaded any lego photos yet ...
and apple pie; why rate me two stars because you don't know how I'm going to build the wheels ?
Trust me; we've thought of the different problems of making something on such a big scale; and we've sorted out most of the tricky bits - you'll see; the wheels are going to be the first bits we make; I'll post photos soon !
actually ITALDESIGN is company that designs cars, they designed the cala for lambo, the company designs cars for many companies but the arent a "real" car company they just work closely with car companies just wiki it or google image "cala"... any way moc sounds like it will be pwnage
Good attempt, let's see it built! I guess you will have problems with these round lines, however, it might become a breathtaker. Good luck, Jens
PS: Apple Pie, it's "Italdesign" - without the second "i" ;-)
