Bowling Ally (LEGO Town set idea)
Okay, although this seems like your everyday MOC, this one is actually HUGE! As most of you have read, Ambassodor Keith Goldman(he rules!) posted a report asking us fellow MOCpagers to design the next LEGO Town set. At first I just thought of some ideas for him, then today, out of sheer boredom, I whipped up a bowling ally in LDD. It only took me about an hour to perfect. But in order to finalize this...we have to list ideas in LEGO's special format~ sooo yeah. It said to use one photograph, but as big as this model is, I'm not going to zip through it.
About this creation
THEME: Bowling! (my best sport BTW)

-Lanes with gutters and ball returns.
-Bowling ally restaurant, arcade.
-Lots of mini-figures having fun!

Now let's get started!______________________________________________________________
An arial shot of the building. Here you can see the lane approaches and the front desk. Notice my fancy tilework.

The ball return and scoring computer. I know that plate design isn't exactly suitable, but LEGO could always replace it with a more natural computer screen.

The lanes. Due to scale issues, I'm limited to having six pins per lane. I decided to only plate the bowling lanes instead of the approach because no matter how much they deny it, LEGO does want to save money. Also those gray plates on the wall could be TV screens or other bowling ally related items like sponsorship signs or whatever.

Hmmm...this guy is thirsty, but he has nowhere to get anything! Maybe LEGO could add in a food stand?

The front desk with cash register. That gray thing is a blank slate where the LEGO company could fit a sticker, maybe with prices or food items, etc.

The ball rack. Although there's nothing there, you could use those round Technic pieces for bowling balls.

Great idea! I espacially like the videogame arcade idea! The bowling alley would be costly, though... Thou art invited to the cute tourist bus contest. Please respond.

When you say "round technic pieces," do you mean those Bionicle ball-joint things? Because I actually had the idea to design a bowling alley because I was inspired by the fact that when you put one of those onto a minifig's hand, it looks like he's holding a bowling ball. I'm so glad you made this, because now I don't have do it myself. One less thing to trigger an OCD related panic attack.

Although not an amazing idea, it's a lot better than I could think up [or build]. LEGO looks for idea that are playable. All no "working parts", it's still a good put-together project.

Well, personally I love it, but if I remember right Goldman said it should be for ages 5-10. This would be in the 12-16 range, or even 12 and up. So with that said, great MOC, great idea, but no bang with LEGO. (I like it though!)

cool but lego would NEVER take this cause you know how lego buildings have like only one side and they are VERY fragile and small and badly detailed?well this is not this is awsome but lego set buildings are tiny have one side and have bad detail.
