Maxifig fencer having a realistic "en garde" position, a realistic sword and helmet.
About this creation
For the Fana'briques 2008 show, there was a competition for the nicest sportive maxifig for celebrating the Olympic games in China. Because my son does fencing, I decided to make a fencer based on the size of he official maxifig by LEGO® (ref. 3723).
All parts have the same size as the official one but I did some modifications in order to open the legs by an angle of 60 degrees, to have a more realistic right arm and left hand.
The sword and the helmet are of course reals MOCs.
Note that the torso is not vertical and is slightly tilted forward making the position more realistic.
The helmet can be removed and the head is hairless like the actual minifigs.
The helmet was the most difficult part to do because I wanted to build a realistic one which could be removed and which remains thin. This one in only 2 plates thick on the back and on the side and one stud thick on the front made with trans dark panels.
Finally, a picture of my french fencer fighting with an italian one (I made also) at the Fana'briques 08 exhibition (the hockey player girl is a creation by Christian Hartjes).
