Finally! Version 6 on file. I improved this thing a whole lot. The biggest improvement is the FULLY RETRACTABLE STOCK. Yes, many have been able to do this, but how many have the stock retract and still have the bolt carrrier assembly fit into the stock? Hoorah!
You may notice a missing trigger. This is because I am trying to get a working trigger on it and to say that there's more to come.
I have and idea: if you can spot any minor or major improvements since the previous versions that I have failed to mention, say so in your comment and I'll add it to a list of viewer-spotted improvements.
Hey,this gun is very nice, but all of your 416's look very much like each other. I can't see any difference between them all,but the difference are there,i just can't see them. I won't give you five smileys, because it can't shoot. But,if you would make a firing mechanism in it,i won't look so good as now.
However, nice job. Please review my M-14 assault rifle,or please try to make a Thompson m1921. Thanks,Lawrence.
Eric Stevens: Which model of the Sten are you building? Mark I, I*, II, II (Canadian), III, IV, V, VI or a suppressed variant? I'm looking into how the bolt works on the Sten models and I might be able to adapt my HK416 bolt design to fit the Sten type bolt.
Alexander, you are right. Here's the thing: the placement on the upper reiever was correct, but the placement near the back of the grip was wrong. That means the upper receiver was too short and two studs too far forward. I have a completed version 8 with that change, along with many other changes. Thank you so much for pointing that out.
Christian, version 7 has the rail on the top and bottom with a more accurate placement of the vents. It'll be a little while for the rest of the v3 instructions because I have to label them and organize a ton of photos. Thanks!
Paul N., the upcoming instructions will actually be of the final version, whichever that will be (currently working on v7). I am actually planning on selling the instructions. I'm going to try to post the rest of v3's instructions that I have. I had to hold off on the others due to school and work.
Joe M., I used a 1:1 scale printout of the HK416D10RS to build version one. For latter versions, I just improved off the original creation. This one is the HK416D14.5RS and I went back to the 1:1 computer version for the improvements from v5.
Man, this is SWEET!
The only problems I can spot are:
The Rear retaining pin is to far forward.
AND there is no selector switch. Also there is no mag release. nor is there any bolt catch. (That I can see, as all your pictures are of the right side) and one last thing, can you fold down the front sight?
But other than that this is GREAT!
