This isn't a MOC, but it is still a great set!
About this creation
I know, this isn't MOC, but I thought I would share it anyway. This is my favorite theme, and my favorite set from that theme! I wanted this set when I got into Legos. I remember looking in the little booklet that came with my first set and seeing this monstrosity. I would try to build it out of what Legos I had.

I would go to the store a lot during the week and just run straight to the back. I would sit down and just admire this set. Looking closely at it to see how I could build my own even better. I had building the truck in this set down to the last piece, I built several of them. I would build them 'til I thought they were correct and then modify them to make 'em better. Fun times.

I saved up for the set, but by the time I had enough, they didn't make the set anymore. This is when they moved on to the Dinosaur sets. Now that I am back into Legos, I got this set that I wanted, 10 years ago! Time flies, but glad my memories stay with me, I don't know where I would be without them.

I hope this brings up similar emotions in some other people that grew up around the time frame I did. The good old days as we would call them.

Even though the Adventurers sets were evidently Indiana Jones Rip offs (Thats what happens when Lego can't get a licence!) they're still awesome!

I'm glad everyone here likes this! And yes, I remember that little guy with the red shorts and green shirt (I think that's it). With the wild 90's style hair do. That was the Lego Maniac. One of the sets I picked up on ebay came with the original catalog "New for 1998!". And looking at that brought back memories. You can also look at the catalogs online via Peeron. If you like this, should I post up some of the other original sets from that line? I'll put pictures of the box to this set up as well, so look for the update in the tag line! Thanks for the great replys and ratings!

I love the old sets, Insectoids, Alpha Team, Adventurers and Lego Knights Kingdom. Nowadays lego will make a whole wall out of 1 brick... Makes me sad, but this set doesn't! lol

Ahh, the good ol' days. I loved that whole line- part of the reason why Indiana Jones is my new friend. Does anyone remember the little guy they used to put in all the catalogs, with the red shirt and green shorts? Classic.

I too like that set. I was lucky enough to get 3 or 4 of them on clearance at Toy R Us and Kay Bee Toys. I wanted all the tan parts. I still have one in the box to rebuild. It's one of the few sets that I kept seperate from my building stock. I like that truck but never tried to make it better. garth
