The Church of St. John the Revelator ( Post Apocalyptic Building)
In the not-so-distant future, amid the rubble of a city ravaged by war and famine, lies the ruins of the church of St John the Revelator. Once a house of worship, this sad, lonely ruin is now a hide out for a ragged band of war survivors. Brought together by suffering and a common desire to survive, the group is lead by a man known simply as the Albino – who’s chequered past is known only by those whom he has already killed. The church itself, hit by a stray orbital bombardment laser during the war, was thought for years to be filled with deadly radiation emanating from a pit of molten rubble and metal in the centre of the church’s floor. However, after following a flock of specially bred birds that have the ability to sense out radioactively “clean” areas, the band made the church one of their many hidden supply bases. The church’s deadly reputation serves as excellent cover for the band as no other survivors would ever risk approaching the site. The ruin is also said to be haunted, and the bell that hangs in its tower is thought to toll whenever another soul joins the dead. It is not haunted though, and the old bell is merely used by the band to create a sense of terror in the minds of any who draw near. The church has fallen far from its original use, and the building that once echoed with the voices of worshipers, now is more often filled with the weeping of men and women who have lost everything.

I was Lucky enough to meet this guy (well he is my friend) and see this in real life, even played a wargame over it. Very nice job. I think that won him a few of our local toyshops annual lego comps aswell.

OK, now I need to build some post apoc stuff...VERY WELL DONE! I really like the bit of writing you put in there, and the details rock! I just wish you had some pictures of the interior.

This is the kind of post that makes me want to build post-apocalyptic MOCs, too - the structure is great, and the writing about it is imaginative and compelling. I love the fact that it's the church of St. John the Revelator - what a great allusion! Will we get to see the band of survivors defend it in action later on?
