About this creation

a while ago I was inspired to make a small spaceport for my star wars models, but I've been reluctant to post it here on MOCpages as I thought it wasn't good enough to be worth shwoing the world ; a couple of days ago I decided to add to it; adding parts to the building bit next to the landing pads, and adding a whole new floor to this building. I'm still not sure if it's good enough to be worth posting, but please think of one thing before saying it's rubbish; I've got a limited amoint of lego, and as always most of it's useless for what you want to build at the time; I thought I wouldn't have enough goosd bits left to make my mustang. I did. Same thing for the Imperial Gunship, and I still managed to dig out enough good bits to make it; but all this means each time I have less and less to use - so in this spaceport a lot of the walls will juyst have to be imaginary; and on the first floor of the building I noly had enough blocks to build around the computers/viewports etc so again you'll have to imagine the walls linking up the sides :)

The spaceport's made from a main control building and three landing pads; two medium and one large. The large one has been made to fit the Slave I whilst the other two (the same size) can fit the Jedi Starfighter, Snowspeeder, Twin Pod Could Car or Imperial Gunship (or any other ships this sort of size).

Despite looking a bit empty and frame-like, I've tried to make this as much as I could like what I'd imagine a busy spaceport to be like; let's take a little guided tour, from the eyes of a lego guy...

OK, well not from the eyes if a Lego Guy right away... unless it's one just about to land or something. Never mind, anyway - here's the bird's eye view.

Here we see the whole spaceport; the same as the main picture; but from a lego guy's point of view.

Now, our lego guy enters the maintenance/cargo bay, at the ground level of the main building, to his left he sees three pillars marking the three areas uses to store the cargo from each of the three corresponding landing bays.

Directly in front of him, our man sees the armory; not that this is a military installation; but "better safe than sorry" : helmets, blaster rifles, jetpacks and even a couple of missiles lay, just in case the port should fall under attack.

To his right, he notices a worker taking off the cargo of one of the ships from one of the three cranes; whilst a power droid bumbles on his way.

Exiting the main building, our lego man is now going to check out the landing bays; immediately on his left, on the wall of the building, there are 4 big fuel tanks (yes I know; 3 cranes, 3 cargo bays, 3 landing pads and 4 fuel tanks ... we'll just say the fourth one is a reserve tank lol)

Here he sees a mechanic on a maintenance vehicle driving towards the imperial gunship pilot; I just realized this pic isn't "lego guy point of view" ... let's say he's borrowing one of those jetpacks for this shoot :)

Carrying on towards the imperial gunship, we see an imperial commander directing a stormtrooper to unload a mounted blaster cannon from the ship.

On the other side of the gunship, our man sees another stormtrooper loading up his cargo box to be transported by the crane to the cargo bay for his ship, in the main building.

On his way back, the lego guy sees Jango and young Boba Fett overlooking their cargo container being taken away by the crane to their cargo bay.

Our lego guy has now entered the main building again, and is now visiting the upstairs; he sees on the left wall a couple of nerds controlling the main nav computers; making all their calculations on the incoming and outgoing ships, and all that kind of stuff... better leave them to their work.

On the right wall, he sees another worker controlling the cargo cranes. (the windows used for the viewport were amongst the first ever lego bits I had, so they're quite blurred now and hard to see through...)

At the front of the building, our man sees another visitor looking throuh the main viewports, where you can see all the space traffic and monitor the ships entering and exiting the area with the limited functionality public access computer; much more limited than the ones used by the nerds.

Coming to the end of his tour, our lego guy enters the door separating the main upper building from the Administrator's room, where a couple of other lego dudes scold him for being so late to turn up at their meeting... oops! I suppose that's our fault for making him take us on a guided tour of the spaceport...

P.S. If you are looking to buy lego for your creations, I would like to recommend the following Bricklink lego shop ; "About Town, Castle & Train" ( )
I personally know the shopholders, and they are very nice, devoted people. They are currently sponsoring 100% of my 1/3 Lamborghini project, providing all of the parts; and have made various other donations to other models I have made.
The store has a wide selection of parts (over 600,000!), at good prices, and offer an exceptional, fast service (no tax or dodgy exchange rates, next day postage, etc). you won't be disappointed !

J'aime beaucoup ce concept, awesome work :)
