This one IS to scale with ALL(maybe excluding the speeder bike and gunship v.1) my other SW minis.(this is based on the original clonewars series)
About this creation
For those who don't remember,(and who's to blame? Who wants to occupy the brain's priceless megabytes with worthless bits of information, like ,"This is or is not to scale with my other minis," except me of course ;-) ) my first gunship was NOT to scale with the rest of my minis. Version 2 has been built, COMPLETE WITH SEMI-MOVABLE DOORS, AND FINALLY TOO SCALE! (Those who boor or fall asleep easily should skip the inspiration part ahead) The reason for building this other than building it to scale, is (I warn you this is a little strange)so I can build an AT-TE. Yep, so to build an AT-TE to scale, I built a gunship, so I can later on, build the carrier(laat/c I think).(Boring part over, I hope)
The overall shot, this is not going to win any durability awards I can guarantee that, the building techniques used (there are pics farther down) don't lend sturdiness to the mini.
Overall back detail, the engines, the 1x1 wedges are the rocket belts. Also the ever-present, and (I think to date) never ever used tail cannon!
You can see the back of the rocket cannon detail (carried from v.1), and this is the first shot with the doors open, along with the speeder bike ramp down(speeder bike won't fit unfortunately).
A good shot of the wings with snot techniques and you can also see the "rocket belt"
The bottom (duh), you can see the doors are open(I went with the new clone-wars gunship doors, refer to set 7676)
These next two shots show the cargo bay with GASP! 2 ARC TROOPERS! Yes the cargo bay can fit to hands (troopers) by standing them on grill tiles, sadly 2 is all I could fit.
BTW, the grey piece on the front I would make white, but I simply don't have one, so DEAL WITH IT! ;-)
Now the way I designed the doors, and the front section, I used 4 of those 1x1 bricks with the stud on the side, and just stuck the tile/plate on there giving it that angled look. Same basic idea with the 2x2 tiles on the wings.
The final shot.
Well if you've been reading all this, dude your brave, I hope I didn't bore you or waste your time or megabytes, I enjoyed building this, and hope you enjoy viewing it.
Dude! this is so awesome!!! you really out did yourself!! and reading all that wasn't that boring at all!! the doors remind me of mine!! hey, i'm trying to make mine fit a mini speeder bike, can i use your mini spaeeder bike? i'll give you credit, if i can find a way how to make it fit.
