So far, my biggest hand built Warship. Inspiration comes from Eturior's Rhino class battleship, Battleship-17 and Dan Jassim's Regent.
About this creation
The Rogue Star is my biggest ship to be built with my hands but not neccesarily my longest. At 55 studs in length, and 40 studs wide, it is probably my second longest, my longest used to be the Lucifers Pride at 57 studs. Anyway, this is my first ship to have a proper bridge, not just a little command cabin. It has a crew of six, two of which are newbies and so have the rank of Ensign. The ship is armed with two Heavy beam turrets, one on the Dorsal hull and one on the ventral hull. The other armament consists of a Forward Plasma Torpedo launcher, two rear Plasma Torpedo launchers, two forward blaster cannons, two rear blaster cannons, and that radar thingy on the top of the bridge is an anti-fighter weapon system. It moves into an upright position, sends out a sonar wave and fires two missiles which then split into loads of smaller warheads and lock onto enemy fighters.
Engine array, one on each wing, and one large one on the rear of the vessel.
The gold dome is the radar housing. This thing needs regular maintenance.
A view of the bridge showing the captain and his two helmsmen. The one on the left is a new guy.
A view of the bridge showing the helms, weapon control, and the viewing screens.
The captains quarters, right by the ladderwell. Not very private but at least the computer has a password.
Overview of the main deck.
Engineering. Yes that little helmet just hanging up is worn for outdoor maintenence. You may be wondering where the oxygen tanks are. The helmet has small, inbuilt oxygen tanks inside it.
The stove and the water dispenser. Just tell the computer what you want to eat, it'll generate it in the stove, and then you can cook it. :)
The twin airlock doors. Forcefields are raised for maintenence in space and oxygen is pumped from there to the rest of the ship. Obviously you'd be wearing the helmet and be taking with you some tools...unless you are a complete dope.
Ah, thank heavens, a shower. (heavenly music starts to play)
A small bathroom with a toilet, a sink, and a medical cabinet.
The crew bunk with a plant on the end of it. Next to that is the weapon rack. Oh dear, someone left the medical cabinet open...oh, that was me.
Sensor control. I was thinking of putting an escape pod here but i can't seem to make a small ship like that fit in decently, so it came to this. This is better, in my opinion. Oh yeah, one of the new crew members are here as well, the one with the grey sleeves.
Outdoor maintenence on the radar housing.
The ship firing it's dorsal turret, forward torpedoes and the forward blasters.
Well, that took a while to upload all the photos. Enjoy. Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that the shielding is Electromagnetic and is controlled by engineering. The shield generators are the white disks under the bridge. (faints from exhaustion due to putting up so many photos)
Well, Matty, I really like the Rogue Star. Its a great warship, with lots of detail- inside and out. The two levels work out great for command space, and living space. The turrets are good too. Im very impressed, dude, bravo!
