This ship rose from the 'ashes' of my old fleet, and i was surprised about the amount the came from it.
About this creation
Right wing, engine area. excuse the photo quality =D
This is the hanger bay extension to which my little talon class fighters launch from.
this shows 2 talon fighters ready for launch
This is the docking between mothership and fighter using a docking extension, this shot in my opinion looks awesome.
This shows the basic main floor of the model during construction.
This is the hull over the bridge, showing the frontal heavy laser.
This is the left bank hanger bay. This is where shuttles and the docking extension attach/ dock to.
This is the left bank missile bay, small...
This is the right wing, showing a cover over the lower hanger bay which is currently being used as storage.
this is the left wing engine area.
The front of the ship, look at those 2 mean missile launchers.
This shows the control section for the missiles and frontal firing weapons.
This is the hull situated over the main floor, covering the crew quarters.
The front of the 3rd floor, show a heavy laser battery.
The laser battery can only rotate upwards, not sidewards making it useless against any targets to the sides.
This is the front view of the bridge.
Sorry, no internal pictures, i was a little stupid while making it, i was enjoying it so much i forgot to make the floors easily accessable. It took me 4 days, but that included 1 and a 1/2 days breaking the old fleet and sorting the parts into colour. This model is 130cm long and weighs 10kg, Much heavier then my old battleship but not that much longer. It was started june the 21st 2008 and finished 26th (saying i had some days off for my school leavers day). This ship has 4 floors, bottom includes surgery and medical facility, access ramp, crew quarters, brig (prison bay) Pilot quarters, 2 hangers.
Next floor has the engineering bay, main hangers, battle bridge, bathroom, canteen, arms locker, hanger airlocks and engineers, crew quarters and foward gunnary section.
3rd floor has the conference room, commander/admirals quarters, additional quarters, communications bridge and a lot of empty space.
Last floor is just the bridge.
Now this is a sturdy beast! I think it could survive a ten foot drop (if not; post the pics! lol). It's an impressive size, but could be a whole lot smoother and less of a rainbow... Very good, keep at it!
There's a lot of amazing detail here and you show it off well, but a few more shots of the whole ship from different angles would give us a better idea of what the ship looks like. Also, a separate page for the interior would be cool.
