The Bard's Tavern, a place where creatures of every race, call, and creed may come together in peace...well...all but one...
About this creation
This MOC was an interesting exercise. It was basically planned around the dragon head poking in the window.
Since I only had a dragon head and not the rest of the body, I wondered how I was going to use it. I had a long green tentacle I could use as a neck, but nothing beyond that. So I needed something to disguise it. Hence the window.
At first, this was only going to be a one-floor structure, but I liked the idea of an overhanging balcony so much that I decided to add that too.
The third floor was a sort of finishing touch, I guess. I really hadn't intended to do that until much later, when I was almost done with the second floor. It felt like it was missing something, and I needed a bit more space to throw Jar-Jar out the window than the second floor provided.
All in all, this MOC took about 6-7 hours to build. I know I sacrifice detail for speed, but my skills have vastly improved over anything I would have previously built. This MOC is a testament to that, even if you haven't seen any of my earlier stuff. :)
Nice lookin' tavern. Lots of good action. Too bad you don't have the rest of the dragon, then we could see what happens to Jarjar after he gets tossed out of the window...right onto the dragon. Chomp. garth
Love the action on the different floors, I have no problem picturing this as just a slice of a much larger establishment. And bonus points for actually calling it a "bignette", and not the much-misused "vignette". Someone knows his official Lego geek terminology!
