this is my new MOC featuring a DTM touring car as a contest entry for Chocolate milk, hope you enjoy and like it, thx for visiting my page :)
About this creation
DTM – the magical three letters stood for “Deutsche Tourenwagen-Meisterschaft” (German Touring Car Championship) in former times. Today they are the trademark of Europe‘s most popular touring car race series, which began in 1984 with production based cars and peaked in 1996 with a worldwide series for high-tech touring cars. After a three year break, the DTM celebrated a successful comeback in the year 2000 with a ground breaking concept. Today it is considered as the “Top Class” of touring cars and is one of Europe’s largest sporting events.
The Opel Calibra (badged as a Vauxhall in the UK, Holden in Australia and New Zealand and Chevrolet in South America) was launched in 1989, a front-wheel drive coupé based around the running gear of the Opel Vectra A, (Cavalier under the Vauxhall name), but with a different rear suspension, which had been launched the year before.
The Calibra, styled by the American head of GM design Europe, Wayne Cherry (retired), is considered by some the most stylish Vauxhall/Opel ever, but being based on the Vectra chassis its ride and handling were not significantly better than that of the family car from which it grew. It was, however, the most aerodynamically efficient Opel ever Template. It remained the most aerodynamic mass production car for the next 10 years, until the Honda Insight was launched in 1999.
The Opel Calibra has featured in many racing series/events around the world, the highest level however would most probably be the DTM (or Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) championship. The Calibra was fitted with an all wheel drive Naturally Aspirated V6 engine.
Manuel Reuter won the 1996 DTM championship in the Joest Racing Calibra. Klaus Ludwig finished 3rd in the 1994 DTM season in the Team Rosberg Calibra.
my hardest part was the opening trunk door
welcome to the details section
It’s a racing car… so don’t expect any nice features … by the way notice the safety bars…
the rear interior
all wheel drive Naturally Aspirated V6 engine.
and here is some shots with the roof, hood, rear door off for better vision...
the smallest details
bonus material: drag style
and this little flamy is for my friend Dylan D. and i want to say to him congrats on your new FLAMES ;p
very nice. And a good choice to make an older style car from the glory years, however, there is one (major) con.... you should have made an Alfa 155 V6 TI instead. If you do that, then I will forgove you....;)
In case you wanted know holden used to make car bodies for Chevy (i think) in south Australia near wear i live but that factory is gone and has moved some wear else in the state. they cars for chevy from the 40's-50's till they became a company in 1956 and made there first car the Holden FJ now days they make the Commodore and others. they also make Americas Chevy G8 the make them here and ship them out to the US so there's a brief history of holden. go to www.holden.com.au to have a look at there cars maybe you could make one and i think the shipped cars out to Europe for opel

Hey, I've got new pics of the Dash 9. Correct me if I'm wrong but this car came way before the Astra coupe right?
Great job! I thought this looked good...then you pushed it over board with the roll cage. I can never fit one of those in my MOCs. I'm amazed you got it in! Also, how did you get droid arms to support spoiler that big?
What? why can´t I rate? Oh! I´ve already made a comment! Oh well, It´s Awesome!

Fantastic work, I think you are the best car builder on MOCpages, you have really great cars, I think this and the GT500 are my favorites. I tryed building cars, too. Look at my DB 9 (other Lego creations folder), but it isn´t so big like your ones, it is 4wide and not nearly so good like your cars, but I gave my best with the bricks I hadn´t used for Star-Wars, so can you comment on it, please. P.S.:Alies?
Damn, you guys are incredibly fast - a new car every week or so. Firas, this one is absolutely gorgeous. The detailing, engine, rollcage...WOW! Oh, and nice setting and brake calipers ;-P How will you try to beat this???
By the way, thanks a lot for your help with the photo upload, it worked! You may check it on our page. Sorry for letting you wait, I hadn't much time the last weeks... Cheers & peace, Jens
I'm doin' fine on it right now, but I may have some trouble with the wheel suspension, which I haven't started. If I do, I'll post it as a work in progress and get your prognosis, Doctor Firas. And I'm so ready for your post. If this MOC's any indication, [it is] you're going to wow me. And the rest of MOCpages.
Hey Firas, it's me HAWK3YE...just a little FYI so that when I post today, you'll know who I am. And I'm workin' on a military HUMVEE type truck, [not the MOC I'm posting today] any suggestions? And did I mention in my last review how much I <3 this car?
you told me to check out your MOCs....and i've actually already seen them before...you are AMAZING man! I love the murcielago and especially the Pimp My Ride Silverado...that is one of my favorite car MOCs ever! It's just like the show! A great transformation...you are one skilled builder. Thanks for letting me know who you are-I didn't know your name-just your work. Now I can check up and see if you've added another masterpeice! And good job on this btw. Very good job!
Duuuuude!!!!!! Just when I think you've peaked, you make something better! I'm running out of words to describe these things!!! This is just amazing, your really raising the bar high for anyone wanting to make a decent car. Excellent work my friend!! Peace - Patrick
This is the first car on MOCpages in ages which has stopped me in my tracks. I remember these, though they're Vauxhalls where I live, up against the Mercs and Alfas- brilliant racing. I honestly can't write how good this is. I think this may be the best LEGO car I've ever seen, even compared to the ones made by the pros with a million bricks. Thanks for making my day! Congratulations on a fantastic creation : )
Wow Firas, those curves are among the most amazing ones imaginable in Legos! I love how you built "around the wheels"; those shapes are just "hot". The spoiler is very spectacular, too. This is a true work of art! Steffen
That, my friend, is art...in the form of a car. The attention to detail is phenomenal. I can tell that you worked yourself pretty hard to create this, so congratulations for creating an awesome LEGO creation. C ya~ElNickre
awesome! ill make a page deciding the results. you won for sure. oh and how did you make that wallpaper? this car is overall a huge amount of awesomeness. KUDOS to you. mr.firas. greatest car maker in the world. c-u
Wow! You easily won but for the 14-wide veyron challenge I think I will win if you still want to do it. This is so much better than mine. I made mine in like 3 days, I probably should have taken more time on it.
