About this creation
Ok then… the theme….

Outpost 24 is a surface base on a planet in the Hagfar sector.

Originally the base was purely a scientific research station used for collecting data on the uninhabited planet, and its solar system. However after just 6 months of research it was found that a very rare and valuable mineral used in the propulsion systems on space crafts was located 600 metres below the planets surface. Due to the valuable find, a drilling station was built to allow for extraction of the rare mineral.

This meant that the base now had a large amount of traffic coming and going from it, so the decision was taken to expand the base to make it more efficient.

It was decided that first, a large operations and control centre should be built which could be used to over see the construction of the new buildings, and also effectively control them when finished. A large building was constructed with a large foyer, a medical centre, science lab, conference room, station commanders office, and of course the previously mentioned large operations centre. Other buildings erected included two large cargo bays, a large maintenance hangar, workshop (also housing the massive generator sets used to power the station), vehicle garage, landing pads, smaller ships docking area, refuelling points, and ground works were done to allow for easier future expansion. It was also decided that all accommodation for station personnel and visitors should remain below ground for security purposes.

All construction was completed within a year, however the base has become a target for attacks from another race who wish to utilise it for there own purposes, and so a large number of troops have had to be deployed at the base for added security…

…and that’s what the completed pictures of my base will show (when its finished).

I have only just begun the construction of the base, and am awaiting spare parts to arrive so that I can continue.

I have 5 ships which will be stationed at the base (though I intend to have at least 8 by the time the whole project is completed). The pictures show these ships. Three of the ships I designed and built myself, the other 2 are existing models with minor mods.
