About this creation
I’ve a simple (noob) question for anyone who’s reading this… What’s exactly an alliance on MOCpages? I’ve seen the empires allied with the LIU declaring war on her aggressors in the LIU war, but apart from these fictional wars, what are alliances for?

Thanks in advance for the answer… if anyone will answer me :p.

Well, First, there´s a difference beetwen Alliances and Friends. Me, for example have an Lego Military, The Republic Vaiano, and I´m allied with Liu and many others. I also have a friend list, that are my friends but not militar allies. Some Star Wars 6 year old fans that write "I´m Clne comandoo SEv 23" And review the entire site asking for allies is not an alliance, just people that want reviews. An allie, as Kelso and the others said, help you against spammers too. Bruno

In my opinion I think alliances are pointless because all it is is a whole bunch of peoples names on a page. Also these "wars" are probably the stupidest things because you cant actually have lego "fights" with somebody thats 100 miles away, and even if you get together to have a "fight" then it will just be two people making lazor sounds and throwing creations up in the air arguing over who "Shot" who first. I'm not saying war dioramas are stupid just the thought of people pretending to be in a war is pretty odd.

In the ideal world, allies would cover your back against spammers and haters like Kelso said, provide honest feedback on your MOCs, and maybe cooperate on group build projects. However, in the "real" world they don't mean squat. You don't have to be someone's "Ally" to be friends with them, and being someone's ally doesn't mean they'll even think about you.

It's a piece of equipment for your home, usually electrical, that performs mundane household chores and can...oh, alliance...sorry, thought you said appliance. An ALLIANCE is basically what JD said. Other members usually are expected to comment on your posts (so it's the easy way of getting those coveted smileys), and cover your back in any uncomfortable situations (spammers, haters, etc.) Just think of them as MOCpages gang members who deal happy faces instead of drugs.

UM, Yeah...I kind of find them, what is the word, "Childish" yeah, that's it. You see, I have plenty of friends on MOC pages and I don't need to be more "GEEKY" by having an "Alliance" I mean, "Now we are really getting into the make-believe world!". Anyway, like I said having a buddy on MOCpages, not a problem, but alliance...I don't know...I don't have any and don't plan on having any, but I guess if it makes the kids happy, by all means...Nice build by the way, I love the question mark.

Good question! Though I don't do them myself, here is my understanding of them: An alliance really doesn't mean that much; making an alliance is good way to make knew friends, and to advertise your own Mocs. Most alliances are between fictional goverenments example:LIU,RRA and others. You can create ships and stuff for your buddies and when you are in a "war" they can help you. Does that clear things up? If it doesn't then I understand because I don't have one. =)
