Favorite Star Wars Character Vignette: The B-1 Battle Droid
Whether it's being gunned down by clone troopers (Phase 1 and 2 armor alike), zapped by astromech droids or sliced to pieces by a Jedi, the B-1 Battle Droid still stays strong, and humorous. Which is why it's (one of) my favorite Star Wars characters.
About this creation
For the Favorite Star Wars Character Vignette Contest hosted by Heather Middlehurst, I chose the B-1 Battle Droid to depict. In this scene, a Battle Droid in a Separatist vessel is overwhelmed by both a Phase 1 and a Phase 2 armor clone trooper, an astromech droid, and a Jedi. Faced with such horrendous odds, it finally surrenders at the last second. But is it too late?

BTW, the vignette is approximately 17 studs front-to-back and 20 studs side-to-side.

Another pic a lot like the main pic, a bit more dynamic though.

A side pic, this gives the viewer a clear view of the apparatus I use to show the Jedi leaping up at the droid. The idea for it was inspired by the back landing pad on a LEGO Jedi Interceptor.

On this side, you can see clearly that the little R2-unit is using its third leg, and thankfully no LEGOs were harmed to make it so.

Behind the Scenes!

It's a bit fuzzy, but I wanted you viewers to get a pic of the leaping Jedi alone.

Also, notice that the third leg trick uses an older model of R2-D2. I suggest going onto Bricklink and searching for the Escape Pod set from who knows when :)

Here are the two clone troopers, in all their glory!

And how could we have made this without the Battle Droid! (no stunt-doubles needed for the making of this vignette)

Great job, all of you, take a bow! Except you, R2. EXCEPT YOU.

Next in my MOC arsenal:

A failure attempt at a Jedi Starfighter,

and a Jedi Starfighter!! ;)

One of my favorites is the Tri Droid. I don't have the peices nor time to make one though. This perfectly portrays the misfortune B-1's are put through every day. My alternate CIS gave them the ability to actualy fight, so they don't have to go through that anymore.
