Alco Trucks and mechanical details
ATSF Warbonnet Alco FA FB construction details
About this creation
For reference here are some of the fiddly bits from the Alco FA and FB project. There are three different trucks used, the pilots for the A, the motor trucks for the A rears and dummy trucks for the B. Details on the tank construction and the cab roof are also in this folder.

Prime Mover. I wanted to simulate a V engine but did not want to use the Technic engine blocks, too coarse. 8 Cylinders is a compromise, a real diesel would have 12, 16 or even 20, but they look good.

Top shot. The tubes simulat fuel injector rails. The cylinders are staggered, of course, to allow for the crankshaft offsets

The control panel may be a bit anachronistic but it gives the figs something to do when things go wrong.

This generator supplies electricity to drive the traction motors. No, actually it just takes up space in the body and looks good.

The pilot truck took me a while to get the way I wanted as it needs to be flush with the body, not stuck out the way 10020 is.

Cool details, I don't know why it got such a low rating(haters maybe?).
