Norte Chico. one of the brbarians in Civilization IV
And... SPORE. Yes. SPORE. He's based of some of the creature I saw on there.
The Night Goblin is a remarkably curious creature. Their tribe lives in a swampy area of the forest planet, Equinia. They will industriously scavenge the area for food, and will hunt using long wooden spears and poisonous blowpipes. Recent feedback from one of our spy drones in the area shows that a droid is currently in refuge with the tribe in their village. Our files indicate that the droid is known as Greeblimus 1265 - once the personal droid to Lord Martus of Xalosia.
Before we could get a closer a lone Goblin walked in front of the camera. It destroyed it with its spear. The goblin was small - about 4 feet tall. It wore a stained leather jerkin with various reeds and dried gourds woven onto it. A holdster on its leg held 2 barbed arrows: they most likely were to be fired from the long black blowppe, strung with discarded snakeskins, that it carried in its left hand. As we saw its face we saw that it had 3 sharp red horns on its head and large canine teeth. The goblin then proceeded to try and eat the drone - leading to severe toothache.
MOC: The Night Goblin gets its name from the fact that it's "Ed" on this occasion is the Night Goblin Sheild from a large Mega Blocks Magna-Warriors set that came with a dark knight, his dragon steed, a sheild and a lance. All looked Despicably evil.
Yes, the head is not lego, but that's kinda the whole point of the MOC - to use an alternative to bionicle peices to create good MOCs. It's my brother's anyway, and it can hardly be worse than when Steve Puckett uses Galidor peices on HIS MOCs.
It is inspired heavily by the goblins in the Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion, and also by Norte Chico, one of the barbarian leaders from Civilization Revolution (My Dad's game).
Here is a 3/4 view of the back. The lighting is terrible I know, but there's nothing much round there anyway.
Here he is about to fire his blowpipe. You can see the snakes on it. If you connect it to a pneumatic pump you can make it fire, but I don't have one. Oh well.
This is what his head looks like without the Night Goblin Sheild on it. A couple of loops on the front hold the handle, while those 2 horns actually keep it in place.
This is a picture of him with Greeblimus for a heght comparson. you can see that he can almost get as high as greeblimus IF he lifts his spear up.
