Duke Nukem's personal space shuttle , the Duke Force One.
About this creation
Long time, no lego models ... well recently I found a guy selling two big cardboard boxes of lego at a flea market, so I bought 'em :)
All of sudden I had more baseplates and plenty of red bricks , and quite randomly had the crazy idea of making what I would imagine to be Duke Nukem's (fictional; this isn't in any of the games) personal space shuttle , and called it the Duke Force One.
Whoever doesn't know Duke Nukem obviously didn't waste enough of his childhood playing video games - he's the coolest video game hero ever imagined (that's been officially voted, by the way - not just my opinion)
So... back to the lego model. It's very red, because that's the only colour I had loads of bricks of ; the main design is pretty simple and made with baseplates and normal bricks; but I tried to keep a similar design to the Nasa space shuttle , and detailed it more around the engines and interior.
Now for a more detailed view of the Duke's flagship (more information on the interior shots as there's not much to say about the outside)...
Main picture, the 3/4 view of the outside.
Side view - I think the curve of the top fin is pretty well done
Front view. I had nothing better to shape the nose with than a bunch of various normal and inverted slopes; seeing the circumstances I think i've done all right.
3/4 view on the engines.
Zoom on the engines (I liked the layout of them, with the various sizes and depths etc)
Top view of the rear end.
Top view with roof opened - we'll look at each section in detail now...
Top view of the cockpit.
Pilot's view of the cockpit - look at all those panels and controls !
Rear end of the cockpit, with a couple of techy navigators working on some sort of computer panels there.
Top view of the corridor.
Looks like Duke's imprisoned an alien slimeball in one of the holding cells !
A locker full of weapons, I can see a jetpack and an axe amongst other things.
On the other side, the other locker holds... er... more weapons - guns, arrows, a sword...
OK, we're in the passenger lounge of the ship now - here's the bartender serving drinks.
On the opposite side of the room, a couple of spacers are playing cards.
Western cowboy style doors link the lounge to the corridor.
The room is half like a disco dance floor, too - the flashing lights reflect upon the shelf with the bars and green things behind them; it gives a pretty cool effect...
Here he is - the one and only Duke Nukem ! surrounded by a couple of babes, as usual ... (I didn't have any suitable lego blond hair for him so I gave him the cowboy hat he wears in "Time to Kill")
A more complete shot of the dining lounge/dance floor/whatever you want to call it - the lights flash on and off at different times and look pretty cool :)
So yes, this is how I'd have imagined Duke Nukem's personal shuttle to be like, if he had one - big guns, beer and babes XD
HAIL TO THE KING, BABY !!!
P.S. If you are looking to buy lego for your creations, I would like to recommend the following Bricklink lego shop ; "About Town, Castle & Train" ( http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=stacey_love )
I personally know the shopholders, and they are very nice, devoted people. They are currently sponsoring 100% of my 1/3 Lamborghini project, providing all of the parts; and have made various other donations to other models I have made.
The store has a wide selection of parts (over 600,000!), at good prices, and offer an exceptional, fast service (no tax or dodgy exchange rates, next day postage, etc). you won't be disappointed !
this is excellent. lol i did a project on Duke Nukem for school and included his quotes, like "the last thing thats gonna go through your mind before you die is my size-13 boot!" and "its time to kick a** and chew bubblegum... and im all outta gum"
J'avais raté ce super vaisseau, honte sur moi... Trés beau design exterieur, simple en apparence mais en fait trés fort et élégant. Quand à l'interieur... excellentissime et trés marrant !
