Curtiss P-40 Warhawk
WWII Curtiss P-40 Warhawk
About this creation
I did a lot of modifications to the original outcome of this P-40.
No techniques on it are really out of the oridinary with the exception of the guns on the wings. For the guns I took the long black cord pieces on the podracer sets and cut them into smaller pieces that would fit in the hollow studs on the wings. It worked nicely :P. I was over all happy with the color scheme sense it didn't vary to much and stayed pretty solid. I decided not to make retractable landing gear but instead attempt to make what looked like retracted gear. Other than that the accuracy to the real thing wasn't that far off and their is indeed resemblence ;) If you think you have no idea what a real P-40 looks like and are willing to take the time to find out click here note: Please don't vote on this creation unless you know what a P-40 is, unless you plan on giving it a five :D

Hey!! Wonderful lego model of the P-40!! But I have just started a group called Aircraft of World War 2 and I would really enjoy it if you posted your P-40 creation on it. It would look pretty cool. Thankx, Austin

This is rad man! The P-40 has some spots that are pretty easy to create with lego, but then it has some spots that just never seem right. One spot in particular is where the fuselage tapers from the canopy to the tail. However with the step down of the round bricks, you really nailed that. I'm personally workin on a P-40 of my own and i've borrowed a few spots from your model. lol Great job. It's my favorite plane and yours def. earned a 5!

its perfect! except you have to make the wings a bit longer. That was what the p-40 became famous for- you would blow out half the wing and it would still keep on flying-I mean if it werent for the short rear fusalage(the way its supposed to be-short)then i would think of it more as a spitfire because of the wings. Overall great job!
