This is my entry for Jeffery Smith's fighter jet contest. I call it the TX-9 "Undertaker".
Now, I must admit I've never done a fighterjet or a plane before: this is a first. And I must say: it's really hard! Respect to those who do better (read: a LOT better), I've found much inspiration on your entries and other flightcreations.
My biggest motivation to take part with the contest was that it didn't have to be a "real" fighterjet. So with a bit of picture googling I've found my inspiration in a Mirage 4000, a Panavia 200 "Tornado", the F14A and the MIG27.
I might have overdone a bit on the size of the wings and I'm not completely happy with the bottom of the fighters body. But this is as far as I take it. Not much moving parts as well: just an unusual opening canopy (sorry folks: that's all I've got!) and a retractable landinggear. No flaps, no rear, no brake thingies.
But don't let that hold you back! Have a look around, and tell me what you think about
THE TX-9 "UNDERTAKER"
The rather long nose.
The cockpit and the controls.
The unusual shape / silhouet of the Undertaker.
Engines! Four of them; I wanted to give it a "pimped Tomcat look".
Rockets and weapons. I don't know any of the names for the rockets people put on their mocpages. So please don't ask...I think you can imagine yourself what is longrange, a bomb or decoything, mkay?
Great contest entry! This is a very futuristic model and works perfectly as a prototype. It partly seems to have a blended wing body ("flying wing"), which gives it a lot of lift and the unconventional design. It has a very sharp, "dangerous" look to it; and the 4 engine design is pretty beast-like Iīd say. My favorite parts, though, are the giant intakes & the additional intake (?) underneath the fuselage, as well as the awesome name "Undertaker" - that says all and will receive 10 points later from me!:) Iīm not sure about the nose and wouldnīt use the 2 upper pieces of the empennage (too thin), but thatīs about it. Great job! P.S. How do you like my entry? Best regards, Steffen
I think this is really cool! I recommend making a minifig with a matching flightsuit for it, if you have the parts. Anyways, I like that it has landing gear. I build a lot of fighters and I usually forget that. I also like all of the missiles under the wings. Excellent work overall.
Looks pretty mean! The landing gear is nice (landing gear is such a pain!) and the portion behind the cockpit is really well made. Fighter jets seem to be super challenging (I'm scared of them), you did a great job though!
nicely done, this one looks fast AND heavely armored, good job, I like the contrast red-black, I mean colorscheme
I like it

I wrote a really ong review earlier about all the ratings for each category but lo and behold my computer freezes!!! Well, I personally think this is an INCREDIBLE job for your first fighter, I was really taken aback by how much I liked it. Your total score was 47/60, excellent job!!!
Das ist gut! Yes I really dig your jet fighter. In fact with the red, black, and trans blue this harks back to old Spyrius space lego theme. This would make an excellent atmospheric fighter for that theme. My fav design element is the engines- they look robust.
