Reanimator H.P. Lovecraft Written in 1922- the story of Herbert West and of his counterpart and his goal to "Reanimate" a corpse. Enjoy!!! ~~owen
About this creation
when we had patted down the last shovleful of earth we put the specimen in a cavas sack and set out for the old chapman place beyond Medow hill.
On an improvised disecting table in the old farmhouse, by the light of a powerful acetylene lamp, the specimen was not very spectral looking. it had been a sturdy and apperently unimaginative youth of wholsome plebeian type - large framed, grey eyed, and brown haired- a sound animal without psychological subtleties, and probably having vital processes of the simplest and healthiest of sort. Now with the eyes closed it looked more asleep than dead though the expert test of my friend soon left no doubt on the score. we had at last what west had longed for- a real dead man of the ideal kind ready for the soulution prepared so delacitly to or specifactaions,
there was scarcley a chance of anything, but that did not avoid our hopes of grotesque results of partial animation.~~~~~~~ H.P. Lovecraft

Would I be correct in guessing this was their first corpse? It's been awhile since I read the story, but your vig seems to capture it quite well. The scenery just feels right...
I havent read it for awhile either. But I think its like the third because I seem to recall them having to move to the farm house after getting kicked out of the lab.
