There's nothing more iconic than the classic Volkswagen Microbus...or Samba, Kombi, Vannigan, Minibus, Hippy Wagon, or whatever you want to call it. It has too many names! Anyways, I built this so soon after my last VW because this uses the same chassis. I have to give some credit to Mads D. for the design. I didn't exactly copy him because I had the design in my head for a long time, but never seen his until today. So don't acuse me of copying. Please comment!
About this creation
The back. I moved the tailights one plate further out from my 1500 and added skirts over the rear wheels.
Side view. Looks pretty cool to me!
Notice the ragtop convertible roof. This is what designates it as a VW Microbus 'Samba'.
I couldn't decide whether I wanted the convertible roof, or the stick-out one, so I posted both!
Again, I based this one on a model. Notice the colors are flipped. I can't believe I actually had enough dark red to build this thing!
Cool! I really like how you had the stripe curve down on the nose! I made a 6wide microbus for my entry for Joris Bloks UFO contest a few months ago. Its a fun car to build with a lot of different ways to build it. Oh! Love the dark red too!! Peace - Patrick
