A dream a while ago thrust me into a good mood for a whole month. Here it is in lego form
About this creation
Wow. It's been a long time since I posted...

The dream was so cool I decided to write this super-excessive story. Here it is in case you want to get a piece of my awesome dream. Enjoy.

A week or so ago, I had a delightful dream I must try to keep. In a foreign era on a foreign and small island I was walking along a narrow beach foreign to me. Normally when I visit the ocean it’s at the tide pools since I don’t like beaches cause they’re always so crowded (I hate crowds). This one was empty so it was ok with me. Anyways, it was empty until people started falling into the water. I looked up, and a huge, concrete wall rose up; from where I was standing; it went on forever. There’s no way to get to the top at the moment, so instead I climb up a super tall palm tree and jumped off. Then, I climb out of the water and walk down the beach toward a grassy ramp that leans against another wall. It leans against a very large building which would only seem to be a hangar. The hangar is positioned so that the bottom rests halfway on the wall, but it’s higher than the wall. It also extends over the beach. This is a very large hangar, but I cannot recall the color. I also only recall the end that protrudes over the beach, the other end I assume is recessed into the hill. Anyways, I walk up the half a hill and on the top of the wall there rests a compact but large town that almost looks like the one from Kiki's Delivery Service (to anyone who doesn't know this movie, its one you should see). It looks Mediterranean. The farther the town reaches, the taller it gets, so I get the impression it sits on a hill on an island. Behind the town I see the tops of trees. Now I am walking in the town, which seems to be mostly vacant. Walking through the town, I also notice it is sort of terraced. Anyways, toward the hangar roars a crowd. It seems the whole town is there, but for what? It was an awesome sight. Inside the hangar is a vehicle of which I am captivated by in real life. A huge zeppelin is being boarded by the most well dressed of the crowd. I don’t get a good glimpse of the gondola, which I regret. Instead, I see a bridge near the roof of the hangar, where more people push and shove, but they're entering the top of the monster. These people are somewhat lowly and poor, but excited nonetheless. This is where I enter the zeppelin. It’s strange that I see no authority guiding the mob, so instead of passengers, I see stowaways around me. I am sure about this. These characters are reminiscent of the lower class passengers depicted on the movie The Titanic (also a must see). We soon depart I know even though I cannot see outside. Our room has no windows, and if I didn't know better we were in the cargo hold (well, I guess we were). A crewmember greets us and though I am not listening, I am sure he is letting us to the gondola since everyone is leaving the room. I make my way down to the gondola, which was now crowded with many “stowaways” and a few first class. This crowd doesn’t get to me, and I’ll explain the conflict with crowds on my homepage. Outside the windows I see a very green forest/jungle with a very curly river running through it. beside the river were narrow grassy clearings running alongside the river. a stone bridge crosses the river. All these factors make me assume the land we were flying over was China. As much as I would like to have seen where this adventure truly ends, I woke up.

Here's an overview. This MOC turned out only ok, you know, 'cause dreams are hard to make tangible.

The beach WAS this narrow, however. The tree is too big, though. What? You say you could make a better and smaller palm tree? I'd like to see you try.

Here is a really tall sea-person's view of the hangar with the zeppelin beginning its voyage. This turned out well. Doing this made me try to make a whole zeppelin, but the tail section has me stumped. The hill is lumpy, I must say.

The whole hangar, hill and all.

The town turned out terribly. It's too small a scale to fit what I saw in my dream. I'll leave the teeny houses to Shannon.

Forest in the background. I said to myself, "Jeez, I can't make a forest that small. Aw, what the heck. I'll give it a try." And it turned out quite well in my MOC. Lesson learned.

In my dream, it looked like the mountain from Miyazaki's My Neighbor Totoro.
Can you guess which tree is my favorite?

A picture to match the period.

Haha I wanted to look further into this because it looked a bit like the scene from Spirited Away when they are driving to their new house. Funny that we both thought of different Miyazaki films. I really like the MOC though!

This is superb. One of my favorite SNOT techniques is using slopes together. :) Great job.

It was interesting to read the whole dream-story that you had with your moc. After all, if you have a moc without a story, it's most likely either a sculpture, or something done by an 8-year old.

According to Freudian interpretation, your dream was about sex. But all symbols in all dreams were about sex to Freud. I think that says more about Freud than anything else. However, that zeppelin in a hangar is pretty overt...
