Round 3 of the MOCOlympics, in the Whateverscape category.
About this creation
So, round 3! I have always wanted to do a nice post-apoc scene, so I thought this would be a nice time to do it. Please enjoy.
Oh, I almost forgot the back story! How dare I! So, there is POST-apoc. But, how did that POST come to be. There had to be a PRESENT-apoc. Obvously, there was a war between people, and they wiped out... just about everything. Also, one of those had to be in charge. It's not like you are going to have equal parties duking it out. There has to be a weakling who wants to power, and is willing to do anything for it. Thus, the rebels and the... ummm... Americans? Russians? No, that does not work. Liberals? Lets just say the dudes with cool stuff. (yah, that works)
Another over all shot.
You know, even old guys can rebel, too! The problem with that, is that when you are old, you tend to need naps frequently. Even if there is a huge battle going on behind you...
The rebel grenadier, throwing a plasma grenade...
Squarely in the hard-suit's shoulder.
Our little chief guy... person. A lieutenant, maby? Notice the gun. All I did was add a little pirate's hook-hand, and it's an instant assault rifle!
Now, that's not very nice! I was at my cousins house the other day, and they let me raid their bionicle bin for pieces. I found those little bat things, and thought they looked like cool lazer explosions. Aren't new ideas fun?
That will hurt in the morning. Though, that guy is not exactly the smartest. He's got a sword and a cool assault riffle in his hands and is about to be shot. Hmmm, which should I use?... I know, the sword!
My little hard suit guy. I was originally going to make some sort of weird planet, with lava and snow. He was going to be some scientist (without the .50 cal) that had to wear the suit to survive there, but I decided I liked this better...
A nice shot of those lovely legs. I do have to give some credit to Scorp for these. I got the BASIC idea from him, but I added more to them. So....
Oh, those lovely jump jets! How nice.
I wonder what he's thinking right now... It's probably too exquisite for MOCpages...
The rest are pretty much shot of the land scape without people.
I like how this barbed wire came out. If you are going to fortify some place, why not use barbed wire? Man, if you twist those chain pieces, you can do anything.
You have to have a bombed out wall in every post-apoc scene! Honestly!
I like how this looks. I had wanted to just have a row of spears, but I only have 2 black ones (the other 2 are trans-blue!). But I think the chains work nicely here.
The lone mine. Good thing the guys were too smart to step on one, or I would have had to get out the gory pieces!
Well, originally I wanted to make this like a trench war-fare kind of thing, but I did not have enough pieces to pull it off. I think I never let that image go. It is a bit hard to see, but the rebel's side is about 2 plates lower than the other side. It's really subtle.
A nice shot of all of the troops together. Say "Hi", guys!
So, that is it! I hope you all liked it. Best of luck, Diego. Remember, judges, it's all in the details, and vote Makuta Bane! (that line has seemed to work the past 2 rounds, why stop?)
Oh, and do not forget how big my bribe was, compared to Diego. Every little bit counts, you know...
Some nice detailing, but the MOC feels to me like it could use some breathing room, or some negative space between the characters. Very cool idea for the grenade, by the way. This was definitely a close one. Like BK though, I think I'm gonna have to go with Diego Boy as well. His MOC was well executed and the concept puts it over the top for me.
Hmm…this was a tough one, but I’m afraid I’m gonna have to go with Diego. Your right in that you had better overall detailing than your opponent, but his alien scene seemed to capture the “whateverscape” concept a bit better IMO, and his robots were pretty slick. Still, a great effort here, and there are two judges yet to vote, so you may pull out the win in the end.
