So.. here it is, my biggest creation by far(at MOCpages), a modern model team inspired by the official Lego Modern-Team set No'5590.. that I still have till this moment.. hope to enjoy it.. thanks for visiting my page.
About this creation
In 1989, Lego introduced a welcome new series called Model Team. Even the smallest sets are big and very detailed. Although all of the Model Team sets have incorporated working steering or some other such element, the focus is on visual, technical realism.
Me & the Model-Team:
I was a big.. big fan of those Model-Team sets since Lego presented them in that time.. and from those days I just became a big fan in building Lego vehicles! so Model Team(s) were the changing point at my building history(coz before this I was a fan of space sets like Space Police & M<>tron).. so... here's my biggest secret ever.. but plz don't tell any one.. it's a SECRET!!
A couple of shots for the whole thing with the helicopterů
...and without the helicopter!
Some front and side-front shots for that truck thingy (or what ever it calls!) :0
Welcome to the interior.. sorry I forgot to add the gear shifter ;p
Some details.. like the side mirrors, and the slide-up glass sun-roof.. luxury truck :p
I think something HUGE like that needs some HUGE engine like this!.. I actually don't have any informations about those things engines, sorry :0
Shots for the chassis with the engine..
Could build an MR sports car on this same chassis if you like ;)
Huge and detailed..
Some shots of the helicopter.. It's 100% my own design.. I made it in black trying to make some kind of color combo with the red truck..
It has an opening doors and some interior features.. (notice the doors.. they ae the same doors of the helicopter that came with the original set (5590))
And here're some pics to the platform thing that holding the helicopter..
Bonus material: Racing style truck..
A family picture.. Cheezzzto the camera :)
And here were the whole idea came from.. 5590
Hope you liked it.. and stay tune for the upcoming MOCs.. there're some HEAVY Brands comin' in the way.. c u soon :)
It's interesting, a lot of detail and a great idea. But, I don't really like racing trucks. The cab looks very nice, but trucks are designed for strength and are diesel powered for long trips. (except of course for the ones rednecks build for state fairs) But, that's just me.
THUMP! (That was the sound of my jaw hitting the floor) I'm speechless! That truck is just plain awesome! It's very, very, smoooooth-looking...hey, it's pretty much studless. Your helicopter pretty sweet, too. That was a great way to round off the cockpit. And yes, I think you should build a sports car with tha same chassis. BTW, I've put an engine in my muscle car, if you wanna take a look.
Loved all the Model-Team sets! If this was a set I would buy it instantly! This racing truck looks cool, especially the headlights and the detailed engine! I also like the helicopter! The front screen, the detailed interior! VERY accurate build! Love it!!
big, I mean BIG. That truck is real fabulous. I used to make a lot of semi's, but none were that big or smooth and round. I admire your creations. And that chopper--must be like 18 inches long! The details are what you're great at...keep it up. One thing though-those doors look suspicious. Do they close and open smoothly, or do you have to force them into closed position? Even if you have to take it apart to close it, it's still incredible in my humble opinion. matthew. p.s. sometime in the future i'll finish my 14-wide toyota FJ cruiser. Also I'll have some other cars on soon.
as i said before, oh my god. you did it again. that looks like a supercar chassis with a truck attached to it. i love the helicopter. this is fantastic, i luv everything. the front bumper is also awesome. wait to go dude!
AWESOME remake of this excellent set ! One of my favorite from you ! The truck is fantastic, and the helicopter has simply let me spleechless ! It has a "round" design which looks really great, and even a bit... cute.Lego should use this design if they make future Model Team. Keep on the amazing work !!!
I think I'm just going to sit back and watch other people's MOCs from now on. I'm pretty much done with the whole online thing. I'm looking forward to your other MOCs! And I'll still leave comments too.
That's incredible! The truck it's self is deserving of five, heck! Even the chassis is five stars! Love the helicopter also! Great idea for an opening truck bed. My only problem is that you said most model team vehicles had steering, so I was hoping that this would have steering. Ah well, it's still great!
Beautifully built as always from you, but this isn't my favourite creation that you've made; its not true enough to life for my liking (e.g. 5 spoke alloys on a tractor unit?!). That said it's still worth 5, just not as high a 5 as your Calibra for example. I reckon most of the newer Lego fans will absolutely love this though! I have the original Model Team truck in your last picture, so I'm probably just too biased towards the old-school way of building!
Wow, that's great man! I didn't know you could build anything that didn't have wheels! Sorry I haven't had any updates for you on my KITT. I've been taking some time off and its starting to show that I'm not a car builder. Great work man! Keep it up. Peace - Patrick
