My second Rod for The Rod Club! It's a Rat Rod this time; poeple who remember my blue Street Rod "Metalflake Toothpaste" might see certain similarities between Salt Rat and Toothpaste - but hopefully you can see enough difference to taste something new!! To put it dramatically.
About this creation
I wanted to make something really special. Something I had never done before...
And, this creation just clocked off three of those: 1. It's my first-ever car with opening doors. And I've made over six. 2. It's my first-ever black car with a red stripe blending in with the doorhinge... 3. It's my first ever Rat ROD!!
And that's an achievement.
So, guys, please lay back on your luxurious fuzzy reclining armchairs with a glass of frozen grapefruit juice with your AppleMac Pro and admire my latest creation:
THE SALT RAT!!
Back view! Overall, I think that my trunkline comes up wayyyyy too high with the front window... But should I complain? 1, you'll get bored to the grave, 2, I'm not likely to get anywhere with this griping besides maybe a few corpses, and 3, why should I care????
*below* The big-block V8 with over 400 hp. Nice, ain't it? I especially think the exhausts came out dandy, as my granpa says >;D
*below* The interior! I know Rat Rodders aren't used to the rough, red leather. But this is maybe the Rolls-Royce of stinky old Rat Rods. Nice excuse, my foot.
Those vertical exhaust pipes make me drrrooollll. I mean, I'm drowning in my own drool.
And a finishing photo ;)
OK. So did you like it? I got inspired from Apple's Rat, ~The Rod Club~, and the wild, awesome, crazy Imagination Of Raphy G, The Invaluable Minigarage Motoring Lego-Car Manufacturer.
Ps. Tell you what.... It's a secret, so please don't tell anyone.... *Leans to ear*
You're drowning in your own drool? I'm swimming in mine! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! I could've sworn I already did. Anyway, the car. As you said the vertical exhaust are sweeeeet, as well as the rest of the engine. It looks very long, low, and powerful. Easily one of your coolest cars!
UPDATE: Have a look at the MOCpages 2009 preview! It looks fantastic! However, I think it could spell the end of the Rod Club as we know it... but it opens the door for many many more clubs to start up : )
Dude, I only have 39 bucks. I'm not the kind of kid that goes begging their parents to buy them huge expensive lego sets... I'll wait till Christmas or my b-day, December 8. Oh, and have you ANY IDEA HOW MUCH LEGO COSTS IN POLAND? 'Cause, for instance, when I want to buy a TT, in America it costs 5 bucks. 2 zlotys is about one dollar, but I have to pay 16-19 zlotys for a lousy TT! I'll wait till I'm in America to buy another... It's probably because of the shipping from the US to Poland. A 9-hour flight to Warsaw from Chicago, for instance. A long flight, we go there every year. I'll have to earn enough money to buy something bigger than a TT. Like Crosstown Craze, or that Ferrari and Truck one, in Tt scale. Overall, I think that money grows on trees, but still... And no, I haven't watched anything from TG Series 12. Sadly.
Great name! Oh, and I never thought about a Salt Flat hot rod! Were you inspired by the latest episode of Top Gear or something? Cool! I like the trctor-style exhaust. Sorry, but I have a few complaints too. I think you should make the front grill a little lower. Also here's a tip. Go out and buy yourself one HUGE lego cars set like the Cool Convertible. That way you can have a lot more parts to tinker with and maybe you could really imprees people with a big, detailed, baby-kickin' awesome car! Try it boy! Try it! Nice build :D (Oh, and don't kick babies. That's just wrong)
Thank God that you put some colored images, I hate those B&W images that you posted at some of your MOCs! any way nice Rat you have over here.. good work also at the twin towers exhausts at the front.. overall very good MOC, and b.t.w. congrats for adding your-self at your favorite builders list.. any way.. keep on stretching your comments >>> peace.. Fofo
A five star car! Well done. Not perfect but pretty close : ) Congrats on making the Club's first salt flat Rod. One suggestion, maybe turn the two silver grill pieces vertical as Rod slats tend to be that way. Hopefully this will start a wave of Drag/Salt Flat monsters : )
